contract end best way to port out?

Hello all,

I am current with Three on their sim only 12 month contract, which the minimum term ending date is 26/09/13.

My bill cycle ends on 3rd of each one and starts on 4th. So I was thinking call on the 4/09 and get a PAC code and use it on/after 26/09 and move the number over.

Q1: Should I get the PAC code now or wait till my bill date, which is a better option?

Q2: Am I right that when the PAC code is used the account is closed? If not do I need to tell them, that after the code is used the account should be closed.

Thanks.

The PAC is valid for 30 days so you can safely request one now and use it in its last few days, using the PAC closes the account.

you dont need to tell them to close the account, or give notice if you use the PAC.

i would say use the PAC about a week before the end date just incase there is any delay in porting the number over

You cannot give notice and have a PAC code, and using a PAC code almost always end up with you be charged a months rental in lieu of notice. There's not a lot to gain financially by doing it ASAP or waiting to the middle of next month.

I'd suggest you get it now and start the port process, Yes it will cost you a few pounds to leave a little early, but you may be charged an extra months rental if you leave it too long anyway.
