My guess is that it does, and in your favour, since it will be drawing down sap from the branches.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
We chain-sawed down four willows 10 -15 cm thick at the end of last year, then drilled holes and applied neat glyphosate in veg oil and covered.
There was very little re-growth. I still think the b*ggars might try to come back next spring, but I was surprised at how little resistance they put up, considering their reputation.
Being mischievous, what would Funky Bold Ribena recommend for the removal of unwanted, vigorous trees? I'm guessing it would have to be a digger. That does work, but I have found roots remaining then shoot up in random places years later.0 -

He is a she and has her own chainsaw. More than happy to show you how I get rid of unwanted shrubbery. Just because I don't use herbicides and pesticides does not mean I am a pushover.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -

Well they used Oxen to trample the weeds after the floods, they then used a intensive organised labour force to clear the ground, under the supervision of a good manager

so, anyone got some oxen and slaves I can borrow, I already have the manager (well my other half seems to act like the boss!).0
