No point using ethernet for that as I already mentioned.

It doesn't make any difference, it's all copper anyway.

    LOL
Come on, that's just nonsense. Let's have a cable carrying DSL signals @ 128KHz to somewhere above 2MHz running around the house near mains fittings etc, that won't do the signal any harm at all...

Using extensions like that will just give you loads of REIN, lower your speeds and potentially cause dropouts.

Ethernet on the other hand is a much stronger signal and can deal with outside interference very well. Keep the DSL/phone cable run as short as possible, I've moved my NTE to where the cable enters the house (literally) and gained 0.75Mb.

Thank you that was the intention of my post to replace cable that just might be picking up interference .
Especially as its crosses the mains run under the floor boards .Intention was run Ethernet cable from master socket 15M to modem . But the modems RJ11 connectors had thrown me . Master socket appears to be dual RJ11 RJ45 socket .
Either i move the modem and that may not be possible or i run Ethernet from master socket to modem with a RJ45 to RJ 11 adaptor .

The reason ethernet is relatively impervious to noise pickup is because the signal level is far higher than that carried by ADSL/VDSL signals. Proper twisted pair phone extension cable which you say you have will be no more susceptible to noise pickup than CAT5e will be if used to carry the same signal (in your case VDSL). If you are suffering noise pickup with your twisted pair phone cable then you will still get it with ethernet.
