It'll probably update overnight, and be available to 're-use' with the correct details tomorrow/next working day.Look at the list of beneficiaries in my reply to jem16 above. Again, how will you know which account is which when all you are shown is your own name for ALL the mandates you have set up this way?

The deleted mandate is still there and I can't create a new one so I've had to reinstate the first one. Don't know if I could get Sainsburys to delete it or edit the mandate. Maybe I'll just leave it as is for the moment.

Just in case anyone is wondering, apparently Sainsbury's bank operates under a different licence than HBOS (its parent company) so if you have HBOS accounts and Sainsbury's accounts you have two levels of protection.

    As promised just reporting back.

My £5 still has not left my Sainsbury's account and therefore has not reached my HBOS account. Therefore I expect to see it tomorrow (Tuesday) and not Monday as I first thought.

Save4it - looks like you were correct in saying Tuesday.

Alared - apologies for misleading you.

    No need, Jem16

I ended up doing the transfer on Monday, arrived in Halifax this morning but showed as sent from Sains yesterday.

You don't need a password to transfer money in from another account. You just need an account number and sort code.
  • I've finally been authorised!

I REALLY have to get out more ...
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • anyone got the past 5 years of interest rates on the internet saver?
  • Are you sure they are not going to put down the interest rate anytime soon? Sorry if this question has been asked before.
  • Wow! I might just go and look in to getting one then.
