  • Have had a nice saturday, even if its a bit windy. Have managed to get 4 loads of washing dry on the line though. Went for a nice walk this afternoon and took the children to the park. Nipped to the bakers for iced buns on the way home, so not a NSD but close enough.

We normally go swimming on a Sunday so that wont be a NSD either, but am hoping that I can have three next week.

Have listed 6 more items on ebay. The other things I listed on Thursday all have bids :j

Have joined the Payment a Day challenge and hope to pay at least a £ to my overpayment account every day. Little steps will win the day.

  • Oh and Thursday is interest day on my savings account. Wont get much as I have only been paying into it for a month, but it may be a couple of pounds. Hopefully this time next year it will be more substantial.

  • Back to work tomorrow after a week off (I work term-time).

Its Mr Knickers birthday on Wednesday. I got him a tassimo when they were on offer for £30 a few weeks ago so hoping he will like it. Nipped to Tesco to get some PODS for it this morning and there is so much choice. It took me ages to decide.

Monday morning means baking day in this house. I am making 2 banana loaves, a tea loaf and a chocolate tray bake for the rest of the week. I really love baking and have been thinking at the weekend I should try making my own bread, I should really look at the OS board.

It also means that Nectar Adpoints have been added to my account and I can start watching new videos for points. I save up my Nectar points every year towards our Christmas. I get the points from Ebay, DH's fuel and Adpoints. I had accumulated £50 but I spent £35 on the present that my DD wanted for Christmas, so although I dont have as much off food this year, I have ticked off one present off the list for nothing. I have managed to get my total back up to £20, so if I can get to £25 before Christmas, I can get my turkey crown and pudding for free.

  • After work I catch the train straight to University, so will be out from 8.30am until 11.15pm. Normally I take lunch but then end up buying something on the way to Campus, and then something else half way through the evening.

Tomorrow I am going to take something filling that I can warm up at work, then a snack for later in the evening. That way instead of spending £5-£6 I can spend £1.10 on a cuppa (which I will deserve!) from the university library cafe.

    Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)
    Mortgage now £148,370.15:beer:

    Original savings £0 (2013)
Savings now £3000 in ISA and premium bonds
£60 in mini savings pot, £600 in Xmas vouchers
  • Have just snuck over £240, so thats 2 bricks down, 998 to go.

Have joined the 50p savers thread, so now I am keeping those in my pot of dreams which I got for my birthday. It holds £1000 in £2, so I dont know what it holds in 50p's at maximum capacity so it will be a nice surprise when its full.

  • Have joined the make £10 a day challenge for November, although I am aiming for £5 a day, which is £150 total for the month.

Spent a long time last night looking at my outgoings. I spend a lot at Amazon, so have decided to try and utilise my library membership. In fact I have 2 library memberships - one for the city I live in and one for the university library so I don't have any excuse. I think I get pulled in by penny books and think 'oh its only £2.81', but I worked out last month I spent £20+, and £40 the month before.

Off to a school concert tonight so may spend a few £££ as its for charity. It does mean I miss the trick or treaters though
