I am a little disgusted that people eat mash potato sandwiches!!!!
You've never lived!!!! White bread and butter, bit of ketchup....mmmmm.
I quite like bolognese sauce between 2 slices of white bread and butter. OH thinks it's gross.
However I find his favourite comfort food equally gross.....big bowl of homemade chips with a tin of Heinz chicken soup poured over them.....0 -

You've just reminded me that my ex used to love a huge bowl of plain spaghetti with Heinz chicken soup poured over.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

There's actually an asian recipe that is pretty much mashed potato sandwiches...
Mashed potato, mixed with chopped onion, green chilli and a little curry powder sandwiched between white bread, cut into triangles, dipped in chick pea flour batter and deep fried, served with spicy tomato sauce.
My college canteen in India used to sell them, the students would go mad for them and they always sold out!No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

That sounds ok, but white bread & white mash sounds so glupy & bland.0 -
I love, but haven't had in years, chips with ketchup and salad cream over them. It was a tipsy student thing which was recommended to me and I thought it sounded awful but it's actually amazing.
Batchelor's mild curry flavoured rice, made with extra sultanas and served with cheese melted over the top.
And I've just had an idea for another thread. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
I used to love having:
McCain Micro Chips on a piece (two slices of white bread) with ketchup
Goodfellas Individual Microwave Pizza with micro chips and loads of salt and vinegar
Cheesy Pasta in the orange box, it is luminous in colour and probably radioactive!!
Supernoodles in a piece
Nutella on toast
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I love both of those - once made up a huge jelly in a glass bowl & added tinned peaches - my son was having an animal themed party & they looked like goldfish
That's such a fab idea! :T
My blue jello obsession began as a teenager when a friend from a scifi forum sent me a shoebox full of the stuff from Australia in exchange for a shoebox full of Jaffa cakes. My friends think I'm a bit weird lol.
My version of an American-style breakfast is pancakes, bacon and maple syrup ... With baked beans and a runny poached egg.
I also like super noodles with baked beans.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. I was reading this thread feeling pretty pious that I didn't have any such likings for crap food until I thought about:
Sugar Puffs - a huge bowl with ice cold milk (and maybe a dollop of double cream)
Heinz baked beans and sausages - the big tin all to myself!
Toasted white bread, spread with lurpak, then skippy peanut butter (the crunchy one) and finished off with a layer of jam - preferably homemade raspberry. So unhealthy it's not true but the best comfort food I know. Can only be eaten on cold winter days when the rain is lashing off the windows and I'm not going anywhere.
Feeling a whole lot less pious now:o0 -
Those chinese noodles. Like Pot Noodles, but asian http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=254462173
Best comfort food ever. Good for hunger, good for hangover, and sometimes just for no reason what so ever!
Youngs cod in butter or parsley sauce. With rice and peas on the side.
Oh I have quite a few actually! Certain indian curry pastes or sauces from jars.
Soups in a tin when nothing in the house to take to work for lunch. Heinz tomato is best.
Those noodles are only 25p at Home Bargains. And there is chicken, stir fried, and i think beef flavour. :T.Feb NSD's 2/10 under my belt.
