Hi
I want to create a spreadsheet that shows my budget.
I don't know how to use excel or work out formulas. Can someone direct me to a site where I can just input my incomings and outgoings and it works it out for me. I'm currently on benefits so I get money paid in weekly, fortnightly and monthly. I want to be able to use it offline and keep it on my desktop. Is that possible?

Not a spreadsheet, but check the thread Bank account software a few lines below for some other suggestions.0

Open Office is a free resource, and often recommended on these boards.
Personally, I have been using Office 2007, which includes Word and Excel (for spreadsheets).
Most programmes are quite straightforward to use once you understand the basics.
Others will be along who can recommend other programmes.
Good luck0 -
How can Open Office be better than Excel for the OP that has the latter but can't work with it?0

I agree with grumbler's first post, if you can't use the slightly more complex spreadsheet functions then specialised software is likely to be a lot easier - I'm reasonably competent with spreadsheets but I still use MS Money to track my accounts.0

How about trying to learn the basics of excel to create a spreadsheet.0

I would recommend you google "learn excel" instead. Once you have learned the basics you will be able to model your financies and keep improving that model as your experience and confidence grows.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

Thanks everyone. I have managed to do a basic spreadsheet on excel for all my monthly figures. I just need to do a more indepth one. I've been robbing Peter to pay Paul and have never known how dire my situation is until now. This has helped me to see how much money I waste when I'm out.0

most banks have budgeting tools on their online banking too eg lloyds have money manager which automatically organises your account transactions into categories then displays these into graphs to give you a clear picture of where your money goes0
