I don't get why people think its acceptable just because they are children, babies I understand as they have no control over themselves but children can and should keep to a reasonable level of noise.
No they shouldn't! Definitely not in a park or a playground or in school playtime anyway. Children need to play and play can be noisy, we all did it too.

Can the merry inmates from the nursery (such a lovely way to refer to little kids :rotfl:) see you staring out the window at them as if you want to throttle them? Maybe that is what is making the little darlings scream! Just a thought.....
Back away from the window, crank up the radio and block them out for an hour or so
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Depends on how long it goes on for. The kids over the road were doing that particularly ear splitting screaming for over an hour today, it was bad enough for me listening, can't imagine how bad the headache was for the parents.
This is going to be unpopular with most parents on here, but why should the rest of us have to listen to kids screeching as though in pain for any length of time? I wasn't allowed to do it, it is antisocial and rude to expect other people to have to put up with it. I don't expect kids to be seen and not heard, but that screeching has the same effect on me as nails on a blackboard, I can't stand it. The high pitched woohoo from one of my neighbour's sons though, always makes me smile whenever I near it.
To be fair though the children are in a playground, it's not like they are running screaming around a shopping centre. And no I don't have children but they cannot win as on the one hand everyone says they should run around more and get exercise so they are taken to a play area and people want them to be quiet!0 -
Have you noticed just how intolerant society is becoming of just about anything and everything. We had that thread about the woman complaining about a disabled child was ruining her peace and quiet on her balcony due to its 'grunts' and now this charmer who thinks kids should shut up in a play park. Sad times when kids are damned if they do and damned if they don't.0

You say that they play out when the weather is agreeable.
Well winter is fast approaching, and we'll probably have a normal wet summer next year, so you probably won't be disturbed any more after the next few weeks are over.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Quiet? No I actually expect them to make a noise, it's their job
. It's the screeching like they are in pain that really gets to me, as I said it's like nails being scraped against a blackboard, it makes me really on edge. I really don't have a problem with anything else apart from that. BTW, the children I was talking about weren't in a playground, they were in the road, albeit halfway up a cul-de-sac. Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
The toddlers don't play nicely, they play a screaming game, the game only seems to have one rule "You must all run about screaming, the loudest wins"
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: But's that's the best game there is!The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0
