Change of flight time :(

We’re going to Disney in October and the travel agent hasjust called us to say our return flights been cancelled and we can either:
Take an earlier flight and lose half a day at the park
Take a later flight, gain 3 hours extra at Disney but wewould need to buy lunch (they said approx £80) and we wouldn’t arrive back inthe UK until 22pm at the very earliest (Not ideal with 3 kids under 5)
Although I do not mind either option – and obviously i needto change onto a flight, but should we be able to “get something” (Sounds wrongbut stick with me!) for losing the extra hours if we take the earlier flight? Thetravel agents trying to push us towards the later flight by trying to sell itas “oh but you have so much more time at Disney...” which is great, except withthe 3 kids under 5 I’m thinking logistically it’s going to be a nightmare. Usually they are in bed by 6pm / 7pm at verylatest. We will be in the airport from 17:45 and the flights at 20:45. Travelagent said we should be back around 10pm and then it’s an hour drive home ontop of that.
I know Disney won’t give us any discounted food vouchersetc, or even a room for us for that extra day without paying for it and to behonest its cost us an arm and leg (and another arm!) to go. I really don’t wantto be forking out any more if i have to.

You aren't entitled to anything for a change notified this far in advance other than an alternative flight or the right to cancel. Have you checked to see if there is a more suitable flight with another airline? Obviously that might incur extra cost, so you'd have to weigh up whether it's worth that to you.0

Is it really £80 for lunch?
Can't you leave Disney an hour earlier and buy elsewhere?0 -

Yeah I thought that was the case but was worth asking lol
REally dont want the later flight, Earlier flight is "ok" other than the fact we lose the added time (Seems a bit pointless paying for the extra day when we now have to leave too early to enjoy it)Is it really £80 for lunch?

It's roughly that yes. x2 adults and x3 kiddies. It's not cheap
I did say to OH maybe we could have the added time and go into Paris and eat there before going back to Disney, getting bags then going to the aiport but he's in the same mindset as me, the timing is not ideal with the 3 kiddies. (If it had just been me and him we would have jumped at the chance for added time!)0 -

Nowhere near, they do meal deals for around €7 per person for a huge toastie/sandwich/pizza slice, crisps, drink and muffin.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
You can eat in Disney Village at Mcdonalds for almost the same money as you would pay in the UK. I'd take the later flight0

Ahh can you? Travel agent said it was around €80.00 and she was explaining the difference between pre-paid meal vouchers and just buying with cash.
I'll look into it a bit more! Thanks!0 -

I think I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick than eat that.
There's something very wrong about being in France and eating at Maccy Ds
I appreciate you're a captive retail opportunity to them but there must be something of decent value and tasty available?
Just read the above comment about sandwiches etc. hopefully they'd be well prepared0 -

Sorry, it's a bit more than I thought, but still reasonable.
Adult menu is €11.99, childrens menu is €6.10 But honesly, the adult dishes are huge, one between two children would be more than enough, the drinks are full size bottles too, we had 3 meals and kept two drinks for later.

I think this was the best value place we found there for the portion sizes. But all the counter service restaurants are about the same price for set menu €10-12 for adults, €6 for children. So you would be hard pushed to spend €80 on lunch unless you were going for table service.
Have a look here, they give prices for most of the restaurants, as as said above, there's always McD's.

I would go for the later flight, if you need to be at the airport at 17.45 for that flight what time is the earlier one? Would you even be able to go to the park at all on that day if you took it? And why do you need to be at the airport 3hrs before?
I would keep jimjams to hand and get the children ready for bed before you get on the plane then, when you get home all you have to do is lift them out of the car and pop them straight in to bed.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
