Halifax Junior ISA

I live in Edinburgh and recently opened a Halifax Junior ISA online for my 20 month old son with a rate of 6% providing a parent already holds a Halifax ISA. I have had numerous problems trying to manage this account and would like to alert other parents to this problem. When I call the phone number at the top of Halifax correspondence regarding the Junior ISA, the call centre tell me they are unable to access this account and it is only dealt with in branch. Given the nearest Halifax branch is in Berwick upon Tweed, this poses a problem for parents with small children who live north of the border. When I visit a Bank of Scotland branch ( as I always thought they had merged with Halifax a number of years ago ) they tell me they can't deal with the account and I have to telephone the call centre or visit a Halifax branch . A bit of a catch 22 to say the least! This does not seem to be a product for Scottish customers as the Bank of Scotland is not obliged to deal with queries and requests.
