First time claiming jobseekers - can it be done in advance?

Hi thanks for all the feedback. Long story, I was actually away from the country for a long period of time unexpectedly, and made the claim when I got back.
A side note, I didn't leave voluntarily per se, I was at a company that downsized considerably, leading to a change in shift patterns and even office relocation, and as I don't drive it meant a change of a 30 minute walk to work to an hour and a forty five minute commute (on certain shift patterns, I wouldn't be able to get home unless I got a £15 taxi). This was discussed at the job centre and it was considered a perfectly legitimate reason for not being able to continue working there.0 -

A formal investigation will take place where a formal decision will be made, they will contact your ex employer and ask them why you left as well as taking your reasons into account."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
