Printer or USB port woes.

you need to plug your printer into another pc/laptop - just to make sure that the usb port on the printer is ok.
Your PC is recognising other usb devices?
Do you have a bootable windows PE disk which which you can boot up with, then plug in your printer to see if it asks for drivers?
Does your printer show up in device manager? If so uninstall the drivers, and then reinstall
Have you tried to uninstall the printer software?0
