Selling property in Edinburgh

Thanks all. It would seem that whoever I go with if I wish to advertise with the Espc then I need to pay for that upfront, most of the other costs (apart from home report) are paid on sale of the property. I've checked other properties for sale in my area and there are slightly more advertised on Espc than on Rightmove but most are on both. As a buyer I would be checking both websites anyway but that's just me! For the sake of £350 I think I might be wise to use both rather than lose out on a potential sale by omitting the espc.£10 a day challenge

Always ESPC, we sold our flat 2 yrs ago after the first viewing and hadn't even used Right move. For this purchase we've been looking in edinburgh and the lothians. For looking in the lothians we have used RM but for edinburgh I stick to ESPC as its easier to narrow down to the areas I like.Earn £2015 in 2015: £13:33/20150

I think prettty much everybody based in the local area uses ESPC. rightmove and similar might get more usage from more remote buyers particulary from english buyers unaware of the power of solicitors in the selling process in Scotland. The news article you posted says 90% of sales are through ESPC which is pretty conclusive.0

OP, do you live and work in Edinburgh?0

ESPC all the way for Edinburgh, RM doesn't have the same clout there and I have noticed that on occasions their (RM) maps aren't accurate.0

based near dunfermline, had my house on market for almost a year with remax who are only on rightmove. Moved EA to one which was on ESPC and sold the house within 2 weeks.
guy hadnt seen it before so had not been checking right move aswell.
I keep an eye on the market and the type of house i'm looking for is moreoften than not on espc as opposed to rightmove.
Id sell through espc next time. might even use Mcewan Fraser as you get the best of both worlds with them being on both.0 -
ESPC has over 2300 listed in the city, RM has below 1700, as best I can tell. There'll be some overlap between the two, as some solicitor firms are bound to use RM as well as ESPC.0
