Popdog - If you cant have the integral bluetooth - I would be returning the car for a full refund. And you are NOT being fussy - you checked and were given wrong information.

Have they made holes in the dash or what? If so it's ridiculous that they would even expect you to accept that. The Bluetooth kit should be completely hidden.

I've just bought a used car with Bluetooth fitted at the factory, but while searching for this car I found several that were advertised as having Bluetooth - but didn't.

I don't trust any dealer at all these days - I needed to see the print-out from the factory showing the VIN number along with the standard fitments and any options chosen.

thanks for that i did try to do all i could, have checked the vauxhall website and it says quite clearly that the SE model has as standard 'Mobile phone system with Bluetooth® (does not include phone)'.... the reason i'm really upset is that the vehicle has a lovely dashboard and console and now plonked in the middle of the central air vent is an unflattering cheap looking piece of black plastic. I am soooooo disappointed i feel taken advantage of and more than a little foolish as this is the first car i have bought on my own....... my husband is having a field day lol

Would appear you were wrong to expect integrity from the garage.

Why buy it without checking it actually worked with your phone first??

Of course it wouldn't work cos its not fitted!!!

All I was asking is did you make it clear that you wanted the (non-existant) integral Bluetooth working or did you tell them you "wanted Bluetooth"

    Note the difference.

obviosuly your not readin the same page as i have and i epxlained in the first post.

its not upto the OP to specify the gadget.

its upto the dealer, to say sorry youve been told it has bluetooth, we expected it to have it based on the model trim SE.
unfortunately we cannot change this, we can however remedy this with a aftermarket kit of you choice if you wish free of charge? or give you the amount of value back compared to non fitted models?

not after standing there try to activate something that werent fitted when told before checking at purchase it was fitted, say well sort this out for you, and fit something that changes the apearance of the dash, and non spec, you expect the dealer to be forthright in their specification of what remedy they intend to take.

    OP has options here

go back to the dealer, and ask for a senior manager and request them to either take back and refund the vehicle based on not as described and also that due to their failing in not being open and transparent about not being able to fit the integral BT into the system, did not mention this prior to saying they would remedy it mis informed her of what would be fitted and led her to believe that a integral kit has been fitted when all they done was fit in a kit that is non spec to the vehicle description and the remedy is not acceptable on any level.

ask for the kit to be removed damaged parts replaced and refunded the cost of of the vehicle price based on non BT spec models.

or ask for a exchange of vehicles to one that has and proven has BT installed.

If the dealer cannot rectify the problem then you are within your right to refuse the car as it has been mis-sold as having Bluetooth fitted, as it says per the Vauxhall website.

Do they have any other Cascad's in stock with the Bluetooth fitted correctly to that you could compare it to?

thank you everybody so far i have

1 contacted vauxhall customer services to enquire about post factory fittings of blue tooth device.

2 i have contacted the garage to express my dissatisfaction as to the arbitrary remedy they have taken to date

3 asked to speak with but been told no senior management available till tomorrow

4 am now quite convinced that i was mis sold the vehicle and would like what i originally was informed i was purchased.

i will keep all updated of my progress once again thanks for your input

I reckon that if the Vauxhall website say that an ES has Bluetooth and the dealer said it had Bluetooth then I (and your husband if he's honest) would probably not have found it necessary to double check that it did actually exist before handing over the cash.

He should be supporting you all the way.

You have been mislead and cheated. No other words for it.

Ive just looked on the vauxhall configure your cascada and it does say bluetooth is standard are there any other standard options missing? . Looking at the whatcar review it says bluetooth is an extra £220 but the autocar review says its standard, these reviews were published in june i wonder if it was not standard but a cost option when your car was built in April?.

Of course Vx can fit the factory for BT kit as an aftermarket fit-out. After all, the wiring loom will already be there for them to plug in the BT kit.

You can fit any factory upgrade stuff as aftermarket if you know where to fit it.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    not always the case.

    but in somecases its doable.

    for e.g

i have the standard rover system in my car.

to upgrade to satnav highline audio system, i would have to change many many interior parts aswell as some interior wireing, and recode my alarm and keys.
