what no bluetooth
I purchase an 3 month old ex demo vauxhall cascade soft top 4 weeks ago. At time of purchase i specifically clarified that the vehicle had integrated bluetooth capability. I was assured it had, this was further evidenced by the sales person via the standard equipment details on the manufactures website. I collected the car and returned to the garage a few days later as i could not find the bluetooth facility. A number of sales persons gathered round, pressed a number of buttons whereafter one announced that bluetooth had not been fitted, had i known this i would not have purchased the car. I was told not to worry the garage would rectify this. A few days later another call advised that the engineer who carried out this work was on holiday but was due to return on August 16th 2013. This date came and the salesperson arranged to take my car to the garage saying it would only take about 20mins to complete the installation. Unfortunately the device which has been fitted is a basic external parrot bluetooth kit and not the integral factory installation i expected. The devise looks clumsy, out of place and completely ruins the vehicle facia. I am dissatisfied with the result, have contacted the garage to express my dissatisfaction and been told that that is the best they can do they cannot carry out a factory fitting post delivery. Can anyone advise if what i am being told is correct and if so have i been missold the vehicle.

Call me fussy, but I would have clarified exactly what Bluetooth system they would be fitting instead of leaving it to them to decide.
Did you make it clear that you wanted the built in Bluetooth functioning?
In their defence, it built in isn't fitted then it simply isn't fitted and an aftermarket system is their only option, but fancy not clarifying with them first!!0 -

i query your post? the OP says it was sold to the op after being told it had factory bluetooth wich she had clarified with them it had. she takes it back saying i cant find the bluetooth you said it had from factory, they stand around trying to activate it, then decide it not fitted, so book it in to have it fitted, in what part of that post did op leave the decision upto them what kit they wanted to fit?
they did not inform OP that the they could not fit built in BT from factory only that they could only fit an external kit they left out key information that may have had the op saying i want my money back.
it wasnt as described on purchase, the option to rectify was given, it was not of satifaction they did not fit the vx built BT, OP is entitled to reject item is not as described and the external bluetooth was not what was expected to be fitted, at no point did vx say we cant fit it, the OP taking it back saying its not got BT built in and sales and staff saying well sort it out i would be under the impression they would fit a VX built in BT.
they mis described the vehicle upon purchase, they mislead the OP into believing they were going to fit built in, OP was surpised to find a parrot kit protruding from the dash.
it not upto the OP to clarify what kit she wanted in the vehicle vehicle was described as having built in BT, she took it back they said they would rectify that, and fitted a parrot kit instead of a vx built in one.
they have no defense! if i said your car has nitrouse oxide, and you took it away, then could find or activate it, brough it back and i said ill sort it out what would you expect from that comment! a nitrous oxide kit yes, but what if i gave it to you back with a bottle of nitrous boost to put in the tank instead would you be fine with that after all you left the decision upto me! as you claim, the OP did.0 -
sorry but didnt realise there would be a need to be fussy, actually expected some integrity from the garage in that if they were deviating from original spec then they should have been upfront and had that conversation with me. Notwithstanding the purpose of the post is to try and ascertain if they can fit a 'factory device', if not what happens if a car is damaged can this sort of repair not be undertaken, and if that is the case if the garage misinformed me of the cars capability either deliberately or in ignorance have i been missold the vehicle in which case does anyone know the best way to resolve the issue0

Contact Vauxhall and ask if this "factory fitted" device can be fitted aftermarket.
If yes go back to dealer and complain.
If no, then you probably have a reasonable compromise.0 -
cheers scotsbob never thought of that one will get straight on to it0

Would appear you were wrong to expect integrity from the garage.
Why buy it without checking it actually worked with your phone first??
Of course it wouldn't work cos its not fitted!!!
All I was asking is did you make it clear that you wanted the (non-existant) integral Bluetooth working or did you tell them you "wanted Bluetooth"
Note the difference.0 -
thanks for all the positive comments0
