I tried to check the RAM but couldn't figure out how to do it!
Only 1 BSoD today and I didn't get the number as it wasn't when I was using the pc, someone else was."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

There are instructions in the Forum FAQ, which I've rewritten here for convenience.pollyskettle wrote: »I tried to check the RAM but couldn't figure out how to do it!
Download Memtest86+ V1.70 pre-compiled bootable ISO (.zip).
Open the .zip file and drag and drop the .iso file inside it to your Desktop. Now you burn the .iso file to a _blank_ CD using a CD/DVD burner program. Double-clicking the .iso file on your Desktop should automatically fire up the CD burner. If not, use the Burn Image feature of your CD burner and browse to the .iso file on your Desktop.
You now have a bootable CD, so with the CD in the drive, restart your machine and it should start running the memory tests automatically. If not, you'll have to change the computer's BIOS so that it looks for the CD drive before the hard drive. Alternatively, on some computers you can press a function key (e.g. F12 for Dells) before Windows starts which allows you to choose which device to boot from.
Let the test run overnight for at least 12 hours - it repeats the tests until you stop it.0 -

Thank you! I did look at the FAQs but I think I'm suffering from info overload and nothing went in! I'll try the RAMtest tonight - I did download the right file, I just couldn't get it to burn to the CD, not sure why, possibly just a thick moment by me!
Thanks again and sorry for not reading the FAQs properly

Download and install Infra Recorder, a free and open source image burning program.
Download version 0.43 for Windows 2000/XP/Vista (2.55 MiB).
Insert a blank CD in the drive and select Do nothing or Cancel if an autorun dialog pops up.
Open Infra Recorder, and select the 'Actions' menu, then 'Burn image'
Select the ISO image file you want to use, then click 'Open'.
In the dialog, click 'OK'
