great stuff on your debt free quest0

Well, it's been a busy old time for me that has left me exhausted and as such, didn't bother going on the computer much.
My mum was unwell for a while following a tooth extraction gone wrong. I had to take care of her for a few days and even once she was able to care for herself, she was still very rough for about a week. I'm not used to seeing mum in such a helpless state so it was really hard work for me emotionally and really took its toll.
Then mum's cat suffered a serious bout of illness that had her near deaths door. The vet suspected poisoning of some sort but couldn't pin point the exact cause. Luckily the cat pulled through and seems fine now but again, the emotional strain took it's toll.
Finally, I went to the hospital to have my implanon implant replaced this Thursday but the procedure didn't go as smoothly as last time. I was left with the biggest bruise I have ever had and I was in so much pain. Had to call in sick to work on Friday as I physically could not even get my uniform on or drive. Even up until yesterday the pain was still really bad, thankfully today it seems ok, the pain is more of an annoying niggle now.
I'm really hoping to get back to normal this week! But will have to wait and see how that works out. There has however been good news amongst all the badness. We have officially cleared the Barclaycard balance! I never thought it would happen this quickly but it really has. I'm so proud of Danny and I for getting so switched on and really making this happen.
Our most recent wave of eBay listings netted us another £150 (after all fees) which has already been applied to the Lloyds tsb credit card. That is the next card to work on and is the only thing left to pay which gains any interest! The only other debts left after that are a personal loan that my Nan leant me, which obviously is interest free and the repayment of Danny's university fees for dropping out early, which again we are not paying any interest on.
It feels so good to finally be making such good progress at last. There were times I hated myself for the stupid mistakes I made and there were times where I never thought I would be able to clear it all up, but finally it's all coming together nicely. And I think of it this way, at least I made my mistakes and learned from them while I was still young!Paid off my debts, saved up my cash and now I'm finally buying my own home!0 -

Been a long time since my last update! Small things have happened here and there but thus far, nothing really worth writing home about.
Today was different, today it's pay day and I have paid £400 off the Lloyds credit card! The balance of that card is now only £398, which my partner will be paying when he gets paid next Friday. Being close to having another debt cleared is totally exciting!
The only debt left after the Lloyds is a £1100 'personal loan' which is money my nan very Kindly lent me to help me get away from my old evil Vanquis Bank card.
I can't believe how quickly this journey has gone since joining these forums. I still lurk more than I post, but the the inspiration and support on here is incredible. At the beginning of my Journey, our debt free date was may 2014. We're now looking at being debt free this year! It's just the most incredible feeling!Paid off my debts, saved up my cash and now I'm finally buying my own home!0 -
[B[/B]At my worst point I was about £7000ish in debt, not as much many people I know, but I am unqualified and unskilled, just an office/customer service worker on £12k a year at the time, so it was a big deal for me.
Hello Anniebox
I started to read but only got to this part. You shouldn't put yourself down. To do this job you need a heck of a lot of patience which is a massive skill to have.
Now I've told you off naughty:p I'm going to go and read the rest.

Well I can finally say, my partner and I no longer have any credit card, loan or finance debts! We paid the last £398 off the Lloyds credit card this morning.
In the eyes of ‘official credit’ (i.e, things that show up on credit checks) we are technically now debt free. Our personal journey hasn't yet ended though; we still owe my Nan £1100 which we are going to pay with our wages from the next two months. We are on track to be completely debt free, this year!
I just can’t believe it!Paid off my debts, saved up my cash and now I'm finally buying my own home!0
