Yes I am thinking of getting a new HD tv, probably a Samsung, with a couple of HDMI ports. Don't need a smart tv as I have a fully range of Virgin services via the V+ HD box. (Can anyone recommend a basic Samsung HD tv which is easily wall mounted BTW).
What is maximum range of HDMI cable to connect tv and pc? What is your mobile mouse app, sounds good. Is it an android phone? Have Samsung Galaxy S3.
there are many pc apps from your phone
unified remote is one i have used
or use team viewer for full computer control
I run a 5 metre HDMI from the pc with no issue
this runs full HD media around 10GB in size
so way beyond the bandwidth of your streams. The new TV is the simplest option
Though being me,I would be lookingat building a small pc for the TV0
