Real life moral dilemma

The items were given to you - what you do with them is up to you.
Keep the money & do what ever you like with it.
Your concience is clear x0 -
Locally it's the done thing to say on your "offer" post if you DON'T want items sold on. If the offerer didn't specify then use the money as you see fit."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Freecycle is simply there to keep things out of landfill. What I object to is greedy freecyclers telling fibs to get items just to sell them on and therefore, preventing someone more genuine receiving them or asking for absolutely everything I offer. However, you soon spot the takers from the type of posts they put up. Yours is not that atall- they were not taken under false pretenses so please don't worry.

I agree with JackieO.
Use some of the money to buy a few bits for your local foodbank - you,d be passing on some of your 'luck' then,if that makes sense

I believe in paying it forward so would do an act of kindness. Does not have to be to the value of the money or cost any money at all

The fact that the items you collected from this lady were advertised on freecycle suggests she wanted nothing for them. You helped her out by taking some things off her hands. If enough people did this then it would have saved her the cost of a skip, or paying a company to do a house clearance. What you then do with them is your prerogative. I think it is a lovely idea to give some of the money you made to charity. Only if this is what you really want to do though, and not because you feel some unnecessary moral obligation to.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

If people want to sell anything i give them on freecycle on ebay thats entirely up to them, I give things away that I cant be bothered listing on ebay myself.0

I have given a lot of stuff away on Freecycle - once given as a gift I take the view that it's entirely up to the recipient to decide how he/she disposes of it. It isn't mine any more.
I know there are people who acquire car boot/ebay stock through Freecycle but that doesn't bother me at all. I wouldn't give anything with conditions attached. I only rule out the very rude requests!
OP you've had your use out of these things that were freely given to you - you can dispose of them as you think fit.0 -
Personally I would not ebay an item given to me on freecycle. If the item is no longer needed I would give it away either back on freecycle or to a charity store. In my mind why should I profit from other people's kindness.0
