You don't have to go into a branch to withdraw the money. You can just make an online payment to another account (e.g. your RBS account), or withdraw the cash from any ATM.
I have just messaged them to ask how to transfer money from their current account to my RBS account as the "Move Money" tab does not seem to cover that option. If I use their VISA debit to withdraw money from the RBS cash machine will I be charged a transaction fee (it's normally about £1.50 isn't it at cash machines?)After 30 years of mortgage paying we are blessed to say we are MORTGAGE FREE 11 years early

I move money around all the time from my Nationwide accounts, including ISA and savings accounts, to and from my Halifax accounts.
I transfer from savings accounts to current accounts using the transfer button then make a single payment to the Halifax accounts.
I don't understand the problem you are having. I think it is because you are asking them about doing a transfer from the ISA straight to the RBS. You need to do it in 2 stages.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

The 'Move Money' button will let you transfer to anyone you like - be it an organisation, a friend, or one of your other accounts.

Thank you. The demo link is really useful. I wanted to try experimenting with moving £1 from my RBS to the Nationwide current account then moving it back but since I do not know the account number, sort code or reference of the Nationwide current account I cannot set it up to do that so will have to wait for them to start working again so that they can tell me the info then I can give it a go
I only have £1 in the Nationwide account at present which I left behind 3 years ago so didn't want to experiment transferring that out to the RBS (even though I know account number/sort code/reference for my RBS account) in case a zero balance closed the Nationwide current account down. Account number and sort code are shown online, and on your debit card.
The Reference is something you can choose as you like.0 -

The sort code and account number of your Nationwide account are displayed on online banking.
A zero (or even overdrawn) balance will not close the current account.0 -
This is exactly what I do and have been doing so for many years. I've moved money from my Nationwide account to Smile/ HSBC/Natwest with no problems. The only 'problem' I found is that anything over £10,000 needs to be done in several instalments although they can all be done in the same day.angelsmomma wrote: »I move money around all the time from my Nationwide accounts, including ISA and savings accounts, to and from my Halifax accounts.

OP
Having experience of using both Nationwide's & Tesco's online banking services, I can tell you Nationwide's is far easier & quicker.
The first time you set up a new payment from your Nationwide account (whether its from a current or savings account) you'll need to use your card reader. After that, most payments/withdrawals go through automatically.
You do seem to be making life unnecessarily hard for yourself

:j I did it! Thank you everyone for your help! I transferred £1 from my RBS to my nationwide current account then transferred the £1 back again.
I then transferred £2 from my RBS to my Nationwide ISA and then did an internal Nationwide account to Nationwide account transfer so moved the £2 from my Nationwide ISA into my Nationwide current account. Then I transferred the £2 from my nationwide current account back into my RBS account.
This means I can safely use my Nationwide ISA now and know I can get my money in and out easily when it is needed although I am aware that I can't pay that £2 I experimented with back into my ISA in this tax year but since I have zero chance of getting anywhere near the max amount I can pay into an ISA in a year that does not matter.
I am so pleased with myself with what you have helped me to achieve :T Thank youAfter 30 years of mortgage paying we are blessed to say we are MORTGAGE FREE 11 years early

I wanted to persevere with learning the Nationwide option since I was getting so much useful help on here so did not even try to set up a Tesco ISA or dabble in their online banking but now that I have mastered the Nationwide system I would certainly agree that the money transfer side is super quick, no sooner had I sent my £1 from my RBS to Nationwide the credit was showing straight away and vica versa :-)OP
