Harry Potter Studio uk

Thinking of going to the Harry Potter studio next week for our wedding anniversary. Is it more worthwhile going for the complete studio tour at £38 or just a standard ticket at £29.

Also can anyone recommend any hotels and hopefully there are some restaurants nearby.

Regards,

Garcon 6.

    There is nothing nearby.

Your best bet is to look in Watford for those facilities.

There is a shuttle bus from Watford Junction Station to HP Studios, so you could consider the Holiday Inn right next to that station.

not sure what extras you'd get with the complete tour ,but i went with some friends last year and thought it was great,a facinating insight to film making, even tho i've never read any of the books and when i've taken the kids to see it i've normally had a nice sleep during them

all you get is a guidebook and a digital guide probably better going for the standard ticket.

Except of course the village of Abbots Langley... the birthplace of the only English pope, Nicholas Breakspeare.

Couple of nice pubs in Abbots Langley too. ;)

I bought one ticket for complete tour and just standard for the rest as i didnt see the point in getting more than one tour guide. Personally i found the audio tour a waste of time as i spent most of my time talking to the people i was with, about what we were seeing, rather than listening to a commentary

THe Holiday Inn beside Watford Junction if you are using public transport is probably the best as right beside the train station and the shuttle bus goes from outside there. You have Jurys Inn not too far away from the station and if driving you have the Premier Inn at Croxley Green or North Watford and Hilton in Watford. There is also a Devere Hunton Bridge hotel with nice grounds that sometimes has good offers on.

The Nascot Arms pub is about a 5-10 minute walk from Watford Junction train station and does really great Tai food at really reasonable prices, but you would need to book a table as it is busy in the evening and lunchtimes. I went there for lunch a couple of times and the Mussamun curry was really good. They cook it to order so I ask for it mild, as do not like food too spicy.

Agree totally with this, we did the same and very quickly got bored with the audio tour. There are lots of members of staff around to talk to and they have better knowledge of the sets, costumes etc used than the guide. They also have set times when they do talks and show the props etc.

It's a really good day out. We're thinking of going again as there is just too much to see in one day. We spent an entire day there and still didn't see everything.

Avoid the butter beer though as it is disgusting and undrinkable.
