Motion Judder! Help with settings for Toshiba TV & LG Blu ray Player!

Clearframe, as paddyrg says, is Toshiba's name for 'something' that you TV does. Have a look in your manual. It sounds like one of the 'enhancements' that I was talking about, and should therefore be OFF for starters.
24Hz/24 Frames per second is the rate that films are recorded at. Hasn't been changed in decades, and yes, can be jerky. Your TV doing 100Hz, in my opinion, doesn't really help much, the SOURCE material is still 24Hz.
Give us an example of the file size, and movie lenghth, of one of these pin sharp H.264 files. They can be encoded umpteen different ways and movement can be the one time they fall apart, as there's lots of information needed all at one time, and there mightn't be enough bandwidth.
You see this on rubbish TV channels all the time - music ones especially since music videos are often fast moving.
Getting your TV to 24Hz with no frills is your main aim at the mo.0 -
Skyfall...1080p bLu Ray rip, x264, 2 hours 23 mins, 10 secs, 2GB.
So....to clarify-'clearview' OFF if possible for films...& I assume television?
Thanks again for the advice!0 -
The ClearFrame feature doubles the displayed
frame rate to 100 frames per second or 100 Hz.
In the PICTURE menu, press ▲ or ▼ to
highlight Advanced Video and press ► or
to enter.
Press ▼ to highlight ClearFrame and
press ► or to enter.
Press ▲ or ▼ to select Low, Middle, High,
or Off.
Sorry again to be ultra thick but am I best turning this of or to 25hz?0 -
Try both see what looks better you can't damage anything by playing around with the settings!
You can always reset to defaults if things go pear-shaped ^_^Laters

An alternative to all this is just to buy the Blu-Rays, of course!0
-
lol!!!!!!!!!!!! If/when they go in the £5 bin!!!!0

Turn Clearview OFF.
Also set to 24Hz, or 25Hz if that's the only option.
If the above doesn't work, try setting BOTH the BD and the TV to 50Hz, so at least you know they're the same.
Your X.264 file has similar quality of compression/decompression as a Blu Ray. If you bought the Skyfall BluRay, you'd be looking at, say, a 10GB filesize. 5X the bandwidth, I'd want to notice that!0 -
Hi! Clearview off & BLU RAY player at 24hz/fps....or Clearview LOW (25hz) & 24hz on blu ray? Which is best? Thanks!0
-
Turned clearview OFF-left HD settings for resolution on auto (ie will change if say 780p)-most juddery shot (panoramic view of san francisco bay on a 780p br 1.2gb dirty harry) is now virtually judder free!
Parting question (!)...'cinema' mode for normal DVDS or downloads NOT in HD format?:beer:0 -
Again - what is this 'cinema' mode - is it brightness/colour/white balance settings or something else? It's all in your manual and specific to your model of TV.
I would let the Blu Ray player deal with the DVD, and do the upscaling, let the TV take in 1080 lines and spit them out without messing around with them.
Resolution should be pixel to pixel, no overscan.0
