Are there any problems with using a credit card in Norway or is it just the same as at home??
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

Some card companies require you to advise them of your whereabouts before you travel.0

Not really what I asked but if after advising my bank of my travels can I go into a little cafe, buy a cup of coffee then hand over my credit card to pay for it like at home or will the Norwegian cafe owner, or whoever, throw a fit because I am not paying in cash? Some card companies require you to advise them of your whereabouts before you travel.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
Its pretty much the same as here e.g. some small places may have a minimum spend before you can use a card. If you're unsure I'd ask the vendor before ordering. They all speak excellent english so you won't have any trouble

How rude! You asked a very non specific question and then get funny about it when someone tries to help you.0 -

Spend wherever we've been in Norway (which is most of the large settlements) has been either 50 or 100kr.
In most of Norway, just a couple of coffees will do that, so the limits are lower by comparison than the UK.

When in Oslo a few weeks ago I found card acceptance to be fantastic - in the bars people routinely paid for drinks with a card and they took my Diners Club everywhere I went without even raising an eyebrow.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0

I found they were surprised if you used cash!
Be prepared to spend a lot of moneyVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Used my cards in numerous places in Norway - never had a problem. Never told the card issuer beforehand either !0
