Yes, don't be deviated from your troubleshooting. The symptom of the Rapport issue is computer lockup at logoff/shutdown and even startup (if your computer takes ages to startup). The fix (even if you just want to discount it) is :-
    1. uninstall Rapport (23/8 update was called "Trusteer Endpoint Protection")

If you cannot do that for whatever reason then:-
    1. DISCONNECT from internet
    2. restore to 22/8 (before Rapport update)
    3. uninstall "Rapport"
    4. reconnect internet

...After i did cleanboot, it now will restart, but minus the items I had on my tray,( several), so presume it,s one of them that,s the problem is it ?

If it starts up and logs off/shuts down ok when clean booted, then yes it is something you have installed that is causing the problem.

Hi waddler, it,s something that,s been installed a while back, because, I haven,t put anything on lately;I,ve re- intalled the original start up, and, it,s ok, ( so far).
I do have too much on start-up tray, will reduce them , see how it goes.
Can you run PC safely using only items on the tray, after a cleanboot???

Hi, don,t know why, but, since I,ve reset start-up, Rapport has disappeared, had it years, no bother.??
Edit. Just checked TEP," not operating," told it to do so, waited, and said still not operating.
By cleanbooting, it must have turned it off, so, could be my culprit.?

Edit again, tried again, cannot enable, contact support;;;No console.?
Might as well take it off.EXCEPT, it won,t let me;;;Tried, 10 minutes trying to remove, cancelled ,10 minutes trying to cancel, watching little circle go round and round, turned off pc in the end.
So Rapport surely have ballssed up thier product,I bank all the time, every day, assuming rapprot was on, but not so, and cannot remove.

Hi. I suggest a system restore to the time at which TEP was installed. You think this was added 12/8 - I thought it was more recent. SO something like this

    1. DISCONNECT from internet
EDIT 2a boot into safe mode
EDIT 2b restore to 12/8 (TEP install day)
    EDIT 2c in normal mode...
    3. uninstall "Rapport"
    4. reconnect internet
