Furniture123 Returns

Hi,
Briefly, we ordered furniture, received and realised we made a mistake in the purchase when we opened one box, sealed that back up and organised a return with Furniture123 the next day.
Had problems with collection company XDP who never showed on the 5th August and claimed they left a card when we was in all day. Eventually they collected on the 7th and today we received an email stating the following;
Unfortunately we've had to close your return request. Your return reference should you need to contact us is *******, we prefer you contact us via eMessage to ensure a quick reply. Please don't reply to this email as it is system generated and replies aren't monitored.
In the approval email we sent we mentioned you had 14 days to return the goods to us, it appears this has not yet happened and we have had no further contact from you so we've now closed this return.
I'm pretty livid at the mo, we just checked our account and no refund as of yet and we thought this was done and dusted, I'm annoyed as I haven't got proof they collected it, just signed they're paperwork though I asked if that was it and the driver said yes.
Before I phone them up I'd like to know where I stand as I'm concerned that I'm going to have grief with getting my money back. But I did pay by credit card so assume I've got extra protection there?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
