There is no clickable link in my response, DCM. We'll stop there, were going OT and going round in circles.

Oh Waddler_8 what have I done now?? I tried to download the adwcleaner. I clicked on save when the bar came up at the bottom of my screen but nothing much seemed to happen - certainly I can't see that it has downloaded the program anywhere. But now I have lost my internet home page and now get something called 'delta-search' Have I made things worse?0

Not to worry. Let's start again by following these instructions.
Download AdwCleaner from the link below & save it to your desktop.
LINK
If you don't save it to your desktop, look in either:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\My Documents\Downloads
(XP)
Or
C:\Users\<your username>\Downloads
(Vista/Win7/8)
Then,- Double click AdwCleaner.exe to run it (XP) or right click and choose "Run as Administrator" (Vista, Win7, Win8).
- Click the Scan button.
- When the scan finishes, click the Report button.
- A logfile will open in notepad. Copy/paste to post the contents of the logfile in your next reply.
- Close AdwCleaner
- You can also find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[R**].txt.

Update from my previous post from last night. Ran Malware again and this time it found a couple of hundred of those PUP's. Deleted them. I have managed to download Adwcleaner and run it. It also found a few things which I cleaned up. Have also got my original 'home page' back by going into that website and clicking on Tools and Internet Options. (I'm learning a little bit!) Will my computer be back to normal now? Thanks for all your help and others who also offered help.0 -
Yes, it should be. None of the items were malicious so I wouldn't worry too much in any case.0
