Bought ticket from wrong machine - can I appeal parking ticket?

I have been issued with a ticket from NCP for parking without a valid ticket. I believed I had purchased a valid ticket and so appealed and sent off the ticket I had. They have now told me that I bought a ticket from the city council machine. This machine was the closest one to the space I parked in and was facing into the car park. The signage is not clear, as I made a genuine mistake and believed I had paid for my parking. Is it worth appealing further or should I pay the reduced £50 charge now to avoid the full £100 fine?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Of course you appeal. Seems like poor signage is just one point. There are many more. Do some research, appeal, have the appeal rejected, do some more research on POPLA, appeal to POPLA and win.0

Thanks for your reply. I have now appealed twice to NCP. The first time I said I had purchased a valid ticket and gave them the machine number, etc. They then emailed me and asked me to post a copy of the ticket, which I did. I then received a letter stating that they cannot accept copies or originals of tickets provided at a later date as valid entitlement to park. When I received this letter, I phoned them and this was the first time I was advised that had purchased a ticket from a Glasgow City Council machine and not the NCP one. The person I spoke to advised me to appeal again and explain the circumstances. I did this and how now received another rejection letter saying that the signs at the entrance to the car park clearly state that it is an NCP car park and that pay and display machines are also signed as such.
Do I now write to POPLA to appeal or should I write to NCP again?0 -
This is in Scotland where there is no keeper liability, there is no pofa 2012 , and no popla. Ignore them, you have appealed they have rejected, so their only option is the sheriffs court, trust me they won't go there. They are still smarting in having to pay somebody's legal costs for illegally clamping a car in England, that little debacle has cost them £85k just in the motorists costs, their figure is likely to be closer to £100kWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Shows what they know. See here http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/schedule/4/enacted0 -
Thanks very much - so do I really just ignore them then? Are they likely to write to me again chasing payment of the fine?0

If in Scotland, ignore the scammers.
They won't do court, the most they can sue the driver for is the cost of parking (for example it's £1 an hour and the driver stayed for 2 hours, the driver would owe £2)0 -

Very important not top write to them, but keep the paperwork.
You can do no good by writing anything, but untold harm if you are careless in what you do write. They can't take the keeper to court and only the driver, but if they don't know who the driver is................0 -

They will write to you, and they will get powerless debt collectors to write to you, they will probably threaten CCJs and the small claims court, now if you know anything about the Scottish legal system you'll know those don't exist there. They are to stupid and greedy to know or care, the intimidation is what they want, and of course the money that could come with it.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. I think I have already admitted to them that I was driving as I have appealed twice using their online system and explained that I had bought a ticket. I don't feel right to ignore their correspondence. I feel I have acted reasonably and believed I had bought a ticket in good faith. Is there any way to reach a resolution?0
