So do you want POD or do you want a signature?
POP on the other hand is free.
You said none are guaranteed to track so I was thinking a signature would be a guaranteed proof of delivery.
If a signature is the only guarantee I know I don't need that, but I'd rather have it. If I can get POD for sure without it that's fine, but if it's not a sure thing then...0 -

Yes, but I said that AFTER your comment re the signature.
Neither ISF or AS are guaranteed to track, so that means with ISF you are not guaranteed a signature. However in my experience AS is far better than ISF to Aus.
So getting back to what I asked you, do you want a signature or do you want POD. :wall:0 -

I don't care whether I have a signature to prove POD or just tracking so long as I have proof it was delivered, which is what I said before. What ever way guarantees the POD.
If neither guarantee tracking and I'm not guaranteed a signature either then neither give a guaranteed POD which means I'm probably not going to send anything to Australia.0 -
Life doesn't end at Royal Mail.
I appreciate you 'don't care' but I was asking a question specifically in light of your comment regarding a signature. You do not need one for Ebay. But if you want one then that's another matter.
Posting outside of the UK is no harder than posting within. But if you want a signature for everything then you do rather restrict your carrier.
Royal Mail will be the cheapest for that size/weight. If the items sell for less than £20 then your certificate of posting will cover you for loss/damage. But then if you read the postage sticky, you will find all this info out yourself.0 -

The items will be more than £30, possibly more than £50.
I don't want a signature unless it's the only way it'll be guaranteed.
Ok, let me give you this example:
1. Send with no tracking and no signature.
2. Send with tracking - not guaranteed and no signature
3. Send with guaranteed tracking and no signature
4. Send and get guaranteed signature (no tracking)
5. Send with tracking and signature - not guaranteed
6. Send with guaranteed tracking and signature
Out of them only 3, 4 and 6 guarantee POD through either tracking and/or signature. Out of them I would send it as option 3. As it's tracked I would have POD.
However, were option 3 not available I would send it as option 4. A signature would prove it has been delivered.
I would not send it as 6 as I would have POD through the tracking so the signature is not needed.
I would not send it as either 1, 2, 3 or 5 due to the fact there is no guarantee of POD due to the fact that there is no guarantee of tracking and/or signature.0 -
If you want a guaranteed signature then you are looking at a courier.
Courier prices will be more than £20.
Slight overkill.0 -

Ok, and if I just want guaranteed tracking?0 -
The same.
But in my experience (I ship about 5000 parcels a year to Aus) then AS will get you POD, but RM won't guarantee it.
In any event, you will be covered for loss/damage with the POP for an AS as they insurance is more than the normal £20 level with Airmail Small Parcels.0 -

<sigh>The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
