The doctor only mentioned Driclor which I wasnt keen on at all as one of my friends uses it and at 34 winces when she puts it on! She doesnt get sweaty all over, just through the night and under her arms but not enough to wet her teeshirts. The doctor said that he would confer with another doctor and call me back but still waiting. Im not pushing for another doctor till I get the call from him. He never mentioned blood tests at all.0

I have a 1 (one) tog duvet I got from Dunelm Mill, I use it all year round. At the moment it is folded at the foot of my bed. I have a sheet I can put over me if needed. I also have a ceiling fan in my bedroom.
I started with the sweats when I was 50 and going through the change. I am no 77 and still having them!!!0 -
I can't recall being excessively sweaty as a young child, but by the age of 9 I was B.O rific! The only deodarant that seems to help me is the mitchum non fragranced roll on, and certain clothes, maybe cheap made ones ie primark, I could just be out the bath, put one of those tshirts and be moist within 15mins under the arms and it's smelly!!
I tend to opt for vests these days and throw a cardi on so its not clinging to my pits0 -
If it is to do with cows milk and you're after a good substitute them try Koko dairy free coconut milk - I can't drink cows milk anymore (allergic) so use this for cereals etc. it's the closest looking and tasting thing I've come to cows milk! It's not yellow ish or gloopy like soya milk. No idea if its related to sweating but thought I'd chip in anyway
it's in a blue carton container and is on the normal milk aisle. 0 -
My friends daughter as a pre teen, had an excessive sweating problem. He hands used to drip with sweat and she was referred to the hospital. They had heard of this problem and said she could either get on with it or have this operation where they went in through the neck and took out some of the sweat glans.
My friend didnt want her daughter to have the operation due to the possible side effects. So basically, she got her a strong deodorant and told the teachers that if she needed to go wash her hands then she should be excused for a few minutes from class. It seemed to work out o.k.0 -
both my DD and her DD sweat a lot - our GP always said it was 'natural and healthy'. just make sure they shower in the morning and perhaps in the afternoon too. and always after exercise. its 'stale' sweat that smells. I was told by same GP that deodorants were ok - but not to use anti-perspirants. I found with DD (and her dd is the same) that she sweated a lot as her hair was so thick! and this COULD smell in the day. a hair wash took care of this.0

Try to see that she wears natural fabrics as much as possible. Some man made fibres are notorious for making you sweat. I have never heard of it in one so young though.
I think a roll on deodorant is a good idea, better than the spray ones, there are plenty of non perfumed ones on the market. Just try putting it on as part of her morning routine and try not to draw too much attention to the situation.
I used to do a lot of sports as a young man, and quickly found that spray on deodorants were not very good - even if you washed and cleaned clothes regularly, so roll ons and cotton based clothing were the order of the day.
I would also suggest not using a complete duvet in this weather, because we are down to bare minimums plus the windows open at the moment - that is often just a naked bod:eek: plus the sheet to cover in the early hours0 -
My first thought was to suggest a roll on, but for a 4 year old?
Might I suggest a little chat with your health visitor or doctor.

Firstly as discussed this sounds like a medical thing and it really needs looking into.
But for the time being try an Alum Salt roll-on such as Salt of the Earth. These don't mask or block sweat but inhibit the growth of the bacteria that causes sweating so you don't sweat in the first place.
Its sold in holland and barrett and it's probably one of the only things i recommend getting in their buy one get one half price sale, their own brand supplements sadly are full of fillers and junk.
They last ages so get the travel size, bear in mind you need to dampen it.

The doctor called back, and has said that they wont be doing anything else or refer her for tests as she has no other signs or symptoms. Unless she starts to show signs of puberty they wont do anything. Phoned and requested a chat with another doctor, and she said the same. Going to look for something natural and unscented for her, but thanks to all who took the time to reply to this puzzler!0
