Not sure if im posting on the correct page, however im not asking for medical advice so should be ok??
My 4 yr old daughter has always been a touch on the sweaty side and sweaty feet, hot in her bed even with a 4.5 tog duvet etc. But in the past few weeks have realised that she has got really sweaty smelly underarms. Its like adult b o and shocked me.
So tried showering her on a daily basis, with Shield deodorising soap and giving her a good wash but its not making a difference. Took her to the doctors and he has never come across this before. So wondering about some kind of natural non scented roll on or stick that i could use for her? Dont want to leave it as children can be cruel but dont want her to smell either
So any suggestions would be grateful

My daughter is just hitting the hormone stage (11 year old) I have given her Toms of Maine roll on.It's an all natural crystal fragrance free.£1.00 ish in Quality save as compared to £4-£5 in chemists.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

The doctor has never come across kids that sweat a lot...what is the doctor a trainee.
Take the duvet off the bed and give her just a sheet or 2 and if she wants more heat she can cover herself with the duvet during the night.
It is very humid I'm sweating like anything if I do anything at all outside. I'd just put it down to the weather. Have more showers...morning and night and she won't smell quite so much...and use a deodorant. Try this one from Boots http://www.boots.com/en/Keep-It-Kind-Fresh-Kidz-Deodorant-Roll-on-50ml_1305069/:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. The following links are to do with excessive sweating and smelly sweating.

If your daughter is noticeably sweating and smelling at 4, I would suggest she sees a specialist in the problem, rather than relying on a GP who doesn't know what he's looking at.

Try to see that she wears natural fabrics as much as possible. Some man made fibres are notorious for making you sweat. I have never heard of it in one so young though.
I think a roll on deodorant is a good idea, better than the spray ones, there are plenty of non perfumed ones on the market. Just try putting it on as part of her morning routine and try not to draw too much attention to the situation.0

So what is the doctor doing about it? Where has he referred her? Hs he sent her for blood tests? If he hasn't you need to take her to a different GP at your practice.
Smelly BO sweat is not normal for a 4yo, using deodorants is only going to mask the symptoms, not get to the root of the problem.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thanks everyone, not something I have ever come across. She goes to bed with just sleep shorts on and often when I check her she has kicked off her duvet. Will go and look out some sheets for her. He was a bit of a dipstick, asked me what wanted him to do about it! But will try the roll ons, cant hurt. Read online it could be due to cows milk, so going to get some organic milk as well thanks again xx0

Go back to your GP and ask for a referral to a dermatologist or a paediatrician.
I know someone whose DD has this problem which she is now controlling with Iontophoresis. The prescription deodorants didn't work so this is the next step.
The condition was really upsetting for her - she was constantly wiping her hands, her feet were wringing wet in her shoes within 20 minutes of dressing, her handwriting suffered as it smeared with the sweat, she lost a lot of confidence as the other kids made fun... basically, it made her life miserable.
Now she has a machine at home (her mum had to pay for it) and, so far, it is really effective.:hello:0

If you don't have top sheets just use the duvet cover without the duvet in it. I've been reading about it online too since you posted. Could be anything at all especially processed foods. Does your daughter only eat real food and nothing processed. E numbers might make it more smelly than normal. Thanks everyone, not something I have ever come across. Organic milk will make no difference it just means the cows were fed an organic diet..the milk is exactly the same... what they are talking about is hormone additives which are illegal in the UK anyway. You saw an American site which allows hormone treatment on a dairy herd.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. ^^ yep, sounds like me! I was like this as a child too, although more like from the age of 7 or 8 than 4.
I was due to start a course of iontophoresis when I was 21 or 22, but then moved overseas and never did get round to sorting it again. I tend to just live with it to be honest. It is bad all year round but even worse in summer, so glad to be saying goodbye to this heat and humidity!
Hope you manage to sort something for her though OP....hyperhydrosis, if it is what your daughter has, is really problematic and annoying. While of course exacerbated by the things that make 'normal' people sweat (such as nerves and heat), it also just appears completely randomly: I can be sitting on the sofa with no shoes or socks on and the windows blowing a nice breeze through and still have pools of sweat forming on the soles of my feet. I still sweat a lot even in the winter. In the summer, having a sheet only on at night, and/or sleeping naked, makes no difference at all, and I frequently wake in the night because of the sweating (this happens all year round).*le sigh*0

 Organic milk IS cows' milk.
Instead of trying these changes in diet I think you need to get back to the GP and insist on a referral as if it really is as bad as you say then that is NOT 'normal' for a four year old.:hello:0
