Does such a thing exist? I can't find any mention of one on their site but I think all the other networks do this so guess I'm missing the obvious! Anyone point me in the right direction, please?
thanks

Just looked again, it's only SIM-only is PAYG, however some of the new tariffs aren't bad and the new phone could always be sold...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Do you really want to go with 3?
They do seem to be creating a number of CS issues at the moment.
Unless you're desparate to go with 3 I would go with someone else for the moment
Also, these sim only contracts seem expensive when you can gat a phone/sim contract via https://www.dialaphone.co.uk/youatwork cheap after cashback.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
thanks GunJack and HugoSP. The reason for going with 3 would be for the x-series add-on, nothing else. Talk & text wise I've got a good deal with a discounted 3G Orange PAYG SIM.
How saleable would a locked to 3 phone be? (guess it would have to be one of the decent ones to get the 3G SIM - I've got an N73 so don't need a new phone).
It's just a bit of whim, I guess - I'll think on it a bit more. Thanks guys

If you could get a 3 PAYG sim card for it and put it on e bay as unused you may get close to the retail price for a phone of the same type.
However, the trick is to find a free PAYG sim. I was offerd the chance to convert my contract sims to PAYG when I terminated it at the end of the 12 month period. However I wanted to keep my numbers so this was not possible.
Having said that if you ordered it from Dialaphone using the link above it may come in as unlocked anyway. I have had a number of phones from DAP which have been unlocked. If you think about it they have to keep huge stocks of phones, so it reduces their stocks if they don't have to keep the same phone with 5 different network locks on it.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
3 dont actually sell pay as u go handsets anymore ....so getting a sim only ...which they dont do. wouldnt be a good idea because if u dont know what u are doing the handset could cost a lot of money ...0

I've already paid a lot of money for the handset though
that's why I wanted a sim only deal. 3 have two PAYG handsets listed on their site for around the £100 mark - but as I say, I don't want a handset or PAYG, just the X-Series thing.
thanks anyway

Not too sure how the quidco offerings are at the moment, but I just wanted a sim aswell, opted for a N80r with halfprice for 18 months on Direct Talker 1000, used quidco and the refer a freind scheme to help with the bills too. Worked out at £10pm n then just added xseries silver to my account for an extra £5p/m.
sold the n80r for around £130, so more or less paid for the handset I already had.
Think they have the n70r at the moment (can be unlocked, see sticky threads). Should get around £90 for it...SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250
