I do alot of taste tests at work, so sadly can now tell the difference between heinz and cheaper brands (acidity and sugar levels!). Cheaper beans are pretty much the same, except you get less beans and more watery sauce. Don't shake the can, pour the watery stuff off the top, and no one will notice...

Certain restaurants put Heinz bottles on the table, and fill them from a big 5 litre bulk-bought cheapo tomato sauce!! (Tootsies...!)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

This is fraud:eek: Doesn't work for DD, she's tall, DS it does.;)

We aslo have to argue, that despite appearances the little lad is just 4. Never been asked for ID yet, but sometimes it is true. So once he is 5, I don't think anyone would believe us anyway if we tried to fib.

I will also admit to lowering my children's ages on times to get cheaper admission.
This reminds me of a time when I was queuing to get into an adventure park with my brother and his two children. The lady at the kiosk asked how old my younger nephew was (it was free entry for under 5's) so my brother said he was 4. A loud voice piped up "Dad, Dad, I'm 5, I'm 5" and he held up 5 fingers to show his Dad he was 5 :rotfl: The lady laughed and let him through for free lol.
I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....

My hubby Will eat just about anything - now LOL
when we first got together..i sent him out to get a couple of extra bits for sunday lunch with my mum, sis, bil and niece..i had the joint veg , potatoes etc...but he came back having spent £45 on dessert...and wine OMG i nearly passed out
He used to insist on heinz beans....until i started opening them to find over 1/3 tin was sauce...and i drain that off cos i cant stand runny beans -so now we have morrisons own and they are lovely
he gets away with Nescafe....he really can tell the difference..even knew when i got decaf by mistake !!!
and i admit to being a heize or daddies ketchup and a HP brown sauce fan.... am yet to find a cheap one i can eat...still with how little i use it i dont mind too much.

When my 3 children were young we often "smuggled" one of them in to venues that offered Family tickets. The tickets only allowed 2 adults and 2 children.
I took the 3 kids abroad on my own and paid for my son (then 12) as an adult - it worked out cheaper to book as a family (2 adults+ 2 kids) than as 1 adult and 3 children!
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

ROFL - yep that's the obvious downside! Like an ex colleague who decided she could get away with taking her newly 5 year old on the bus for free until the end of the school term. She told her daughter not to announce her birthday on the bus (being moneysaving and all that!) and, as told, she didn't announce her age - she just opened her coat to show the bus driver her new 'I'm 5 Today' badge!!!

Be sure your sins will find you out is what my nan used to say!

I have to say, my girls are tall too and we've spent more time convincing people to let them in for their actual age than we have lying to get cheaper entry! Got away with more when my son was little as he was the same height as his younger sister and people assumed they were twins - if we gave dd's age first and it was assumed they were born the same day....

    Slapped wrists for us methinks!
  • I find it's best to collaborate with other parents when lying to your kids :D
eg. The ice cream man only sells horrible ice cream, not like the nice ice cream that Katie's mum and I buy from Lidl. But don't tell the other kids in the street. They might be jealous. ;)
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

LOL!!! these have all made me giggle!!!

OH used to be a bit of a brand lover but has realised over the last few months that some of the cheap stuff is just as good (if not nicer) than branded but I must admit that I hid the boxes (a lot of the stuff was sainsburys basics!) but soon 'fessed up when he said how nice dinner was and the fish (basics fish 97p for 4) was a lot better than last time (youngs - cant remember cost but know was expensive)!!!!

OH's son's not too bad - he doesn't like pre-prepared chips (oven or deep fry) and only likes 'home made' chips (very MSE!) so long as the sauce is red he's not fussed and its not very often he asks for an ice-cream from the ice-cream van - he prefers ice lollys and knows there are loads in the freezer (another sainsburys basics job but v. tasty!!!!)

Ice cream van again I'm afraid. I used to tell my daughters it was the egg seller and they both used to go "Yuck" as they both hated eggs. It doesn't work now though.

Stepdaughter won't eat cheap fish fingers so I give her the cheap ones and tell her they are the finest Birds Eye ones and she's never said anything. Boyfriend won't eat meat that's reduced so i don't tell him.
