And in one post you say your not a business seller, just an occasional seller, but have sold numerous of these items. That doesn't sound occasional to me.it sounds like someone who's rather disorganised.

How much was the item sold for? are we talking a lot of money? I am assuming they paid via paypal? It is a tricky one, a scammer would normally just go through paypal for reimbursement within the allotted time.

Is it possible you gave the item to the wrong person? I do sympathise as I suppose you cannot remember the details now.

next time you sell a collection item don't accept a paypal payment - ask for cash on collection.


IIRC disputes should be opened within 45 days so this buyer is out of time.

And block this buyer form buying from you in the future.

And never give your full address out unless you've fixed a time or you've got their phone number. If they pay you by PayPal-refund them straight back.( I do collection and have to do this quite a lot.

It occurs to me that you contact him and say that you are considering reporting this to the police, as the person who collected the item was committing fraud/deception which is a criminal matter.see how he responds then, tell him they will want to take a statement from him .

Why don't you just send the buyer a copy of the receipt you got at collection time?

So you sold an item on ebay, you no longer have it, can't recall anyone collecting it, don't have any communication from the buyer agreeing a collection date/time, but presume someone did collect it because you don't have it anymore?


Sorry but your story (true or not) is rubbish and if the buyer takes you to small claims you will almost certainly lose.

This sounds a mess, either not quite all the facts. Or badly disorganised small time business, who sees himself as a personal seller.

From what I can see, you can block or do whatever. If he takes you to court he may well win. You can't remember anything about the transaction and have no paperwork at all?
