If you are walki out side of the gym then plopping isn't the best move!
You want my othher favourite method, a moderated version of the pineapple.
. (Plopping is better before bed IMO, as Gets some more moisture out of hair).
Wet hair is a bit of an issue with curly hair...finding ways to deal with it for the best dry and also least inconvenience while wet is key.
No advice for people with fringes, sorry, no experience with one.0 -

If I come out of the gym with wet hair, by the time I've driven home it's usually half dry and too frizzy to do anything with, hence resorting to the GHDs.
I don't like using hairdryers, especially not those at the gym, so need to find a happy compromise.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

You need to put product in while its still soaking...IN the gym. Then pineapple (so its out of the way of a seat belt ...I don't quite pinapple, my hair is too long, and its a dry hair technique really, I sort of high loose bun, then forget about it. It will give a decent result with the right product combination for your hair. Should be frizz free, won't be as perfect curls as some styling ...cannot be, as you'll have pulled some hair into the bun but it will be decent once your hair is in good condition.
Edit....
I cannot stress enough, getting product on quickly is vital. There is no time to go home to sort out, do it AT THE GYM, scrunch and then LEAVE YOUR HAIR ALONE. If you are styling to go out in the evening/special occasion do it from wet at home. Curly hair is different from dry hair in this respect. Its not very gym friendly in that it cannot be brushed through later to tart up.
. I don't gym any more, my issue is outside ...and wind damage and hat damage...which is as bad or worse.
Also, if you are washing daily at the gym, I would serious
T consider not shampooing each time....it will be very drying, even if using a moisturising shampoo.0 -

Actually this is why I do it when I'm still in the shower, hair is still dripping wet, I finish rinsing, lean over and add the little bit of conditioner.
I realised my other big tip is to dry in the sun if you have any. My hair was perfect during July

I have just tried this on my wavy hair and it has come out the most curly I have ever got it to go. What do I do next? What is the best product to put in to hold the curls? or should I have put product in before I started? The other issue is the sides are curly but the back doesn't seem to have taken, anyone any advise on this?
Thanks0 -
I think the product should go on before plopping.
Also make sure to pile your hair on top of your head as much as you can. It sounds like maybe you misplaced it or your towel ( by the way what did you use) was too loose?
It's a bit hit and miss but you will get better with practice.
I had forgotten how good this technique is, I have started doing it again myself.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
I used a microfibre towel. I don't think the towel was too loose but maybe I should have tipped my head more forward as my hair isn't very long (shoulder length) and I don't think much of the back would have been piled on top as its not long enough.0

Your hair could just naturally be different at the back.If it isn't curly it isn't curly,I naturally have different types of curls in different places.Plopping just defines and holds the shape. If your curls are natural (you wouldn't have then otherwise) they will hold. But they may frizz lol
I use serum (frizz ease) on soaking wet hair and now do it before plopping. If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
