A few years ago, my wife booked a Travelodge room online. When she received no confirmation, she phoned to check whether her booking had been successful and was told that it had not been; hence she booked it again. It was only when we checked the credit card statement did we discover that two amounts had been taken and two rooms booked.
She phoned to get a refund, something they were reluctant to do (but eventually did) as the special rate we'd booked was a no-cancellation one, even though the error was due to their bum steer.
It actually worked out rather well as when we turned up, they had 2 rooms booked for us. Rather than admit we'd cancelled and been refunded for one, we gratefully accepted both as there were four of us!

Travelodge don't always take the money for a prepay reservation. Often, if you use Amex, even though you have 'prepaid', you don't get charged until you turn up at the Travelodge. Why wouldn't they take the cash? It's a prepay reservation so the money will be taken automatically.0 -
Refund now received, thanks Travelodge!!:T0

We stayed at the Bank of Scotland Travelodge in London, they stuck us on the fourth floor in a room that was covered in mould with a one year old baby, the last one we stayed at had just been refurbished but you could see mould on the ceiling through the paint. Completely off topic I know, but wouldn't go with them again.Student loan no more
