Non payer keeps extending payment time

I sold two DVDs last week (2 separate listings) on 14th Aug. Both were won by the same person. I waited for payment, sent a reminder on the Saturday (17th) got a reply saying they would pay on Monday. No payment Monday, so yesterday I set up an unpaid buyer request. Surprise surprise I got a message today saying they have been in hospital and will pay next Tuesday. What's really odd is they were able to bid and buy other items, when they were very ill (he said!)!!!!
Not sure what to do. Advice needed!

Wait 4 days, close the UID and relist the DVD's?0

Yes, I thought so, but needed confirmation. I was going to mail back and ask how it was possible to do lots of buying whilst in hospital, but still unable to pay me! But it seems rather childish.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Close the NPB when you are able, block the bidder. Don't contact them any further, even if venting feels appropriate.0

I'd probally tell them you will leave the case up but won't close it untill XX date, then close it asap.
I know its not ethical but it stops him paying to get back at you and you end up witn INR/NEG
That way if they do pay thiers no hard feelings & if they don't pay by sunday its to late anyway. Then block them from bidding again.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I agree with campdave. There is no point entering into a discussion with an idiot like this buyer.Yes, I thought so, but needed confirmation. I was going to mail back and ask how it was possible to do lots of buying whilst in hospital, but still unable to pay me! But it seems rather childish.
You know he's lying. He knows he's lying. The chances are he probably knows that you know that he's lying.
By keeping on at him you just risk saying something that could be taken to be out of order and he can report you for it.
Keep the moral highground.
He won't pay.
You win the case.
He gets a strike against him.
You get your fees back and can relist.0 -

The voice of reason! I've had NPB before, but not a 'I've been in hospital one'! But I guess I'd get one sooner or later. I know others have. It's just rather frustrating!Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0 -

Yes but the unfortunate fact is some of those are true.0 -
