Graze Popcorn Bag

Hello,
I just received a Graze box in the post which contained a bag of popcorn. After about 50 seconds of cooking in the microwave - to which the instructions were followed correctly - they set on fire. As I was watching the whole time I stopped the microwave and put it out before anything drastic happened. I just wanted to give people the head's up this may happen again!
I'll email them and let them know. There's no damage to the microwave or myself, so I'm not after compensation, and don't worry I won't proclaim a child could have been killed or anything like that, I simply do just want to inform them and you these things happen.
Also in the interest of fair play, it's not the first time I've had popcorn off them, they normally cook just fine and are incredibly delicious indeed.

Have you got a particularly powerful microwave? Mine sometimes makes food explode messily if I use the recommended timings on the packet.0

It's 850W. Just had a re-read of instructions there's no differentiation between wattage, just "cook on full power for 2 minutes or until the popping stops". And it wasn't even halfway through, and I've had several bags before just fine.
Shame really. I'm hungry.0 -
I've always found Graze's customer service really good when I have contacted them so give them a call or e-mail.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

I'd love for something to pop through my letter box and set me on fire"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

That's quite scary, we treat ourselves to a graze box every week and love the popcorn. I think I might keep more of an eye on it now, just in case!0

This happened to me as well, but I caught it really quick. I had only skimmed the instructions and blamed myself for maybe not looking at the microwave power, but seems maybe not?0

the instruction do quite clearly say to listen to the popcorn and to stop it when the poping slows otherwise its likely to burn.
When i had it last time i noticed several warnings about listening rather than going on the time
mine only ever goes in for a minute0 -
I've never had any problems with mine but will keep an eye on it next time I make some - thanks! As others have said, I have the impression that their customer service is very good, so would contact them.0

All Microwave popcorn has the potential to catch fire. You just need to be vigilant with it.
Some years ago I came in with a big bag I'd stood and watched cook as per instructions, sat on the sofa eating and watching the movie thinking "My knees a bit warm". As the flames started licking up the middle of the bag I realised that the middle of the bag was on fire. It was hilariously funny as I ran through the house with a flaming bag of corn.0 -
Why not just buy a bag of popping corn and cook it in a saucepan, cheaper and safer. You still have to watch it though.1.29 for 500 grams0
