I've just accepted the same deal and the cost has not gone up.
I have the paperwork confirmation that arrived in the post today. Also, they have discounted my existing deal by £6 per month for next 6 months.
What's in it for TT? ~ A 2 year contract (I wasn't going to leave them anyway) and the chance that I might buy into one of their Sky packages or Love film.
It's all part of the battle between TT, Sky and BT to grab as big a share of the home entertainment market as possible and to secure their customer base for as long as possible.0 -

Agreed.
And the TalkTalk offer is genuine. The box is being offered for free. Though note - anyone on any current TT discounted packages would need to check if they would lose those discounts by signing up for YouView.
Apart from that, TT are just throwing money at people right now to sign up for the new service.0 -

The cost will certainly go up after the 6m promo period ends-you are then locked in for another 18m. And of course they have just raied their prices again anyway, which will apply on top.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sorry to resurrect a month-old post but:
My remark that the price of the TT/YouView deal would not go up, followed by the comment from macman that it would eventually, has proved strangely prophetic :
The cost has not gone up (yet) BUT TT have halved the speed of my broadband from 8 mbs to 4 mbs. Postings on their forum board show that this has happened to others who have taken up their Youview offer.
I have put in a post (19/9/2013) on their forum asking to have my speed put back to what it was. This has produced no reply or response from them.
I then followed it up on the 25th complaining of no response and suggesting that it was all part of their programme to convert everyone to the higher-priced fibre optic broadband but that has produced no response either nor any speed increase.
Not a good advertisement for either their YouView deal or their customer aftercare.........0
