    Evening all

Bit of a strange day emotionally.
My dads brother who lives near me has been taken into respite after a fall and of course dad would like to visit him. His sisters were already booked to see his brother this weekend but they are coming down by train and dad says he could not cope with being 'organised' by his sisters all weekend so could I collect him saturday and take him to see his brother sunday, taking him back monday.
Ok 600 miles in all for me but quite happy to help as the 4 of them rarely get together plus dad is worried it might be last time.

Shock came when dad asked if I saw his sisters could I pretend I am working as he has not told them of my illness:eek:
I think it has taken dad many years to accept my disabilities and when he did not understand he hid it from them.
Still tonight I get to thinking of it as a bit of a betrayal. I know benefits can hold a stigma but as many of you on here know illness is not a lifestyle choice it is lifechanging. For first 2 years after I gave up work I cried every morning.
Our minds become trapped in a body we do not recognise.

Sorry to have a rant but I thank god every day that my illness is what it is and nothing more. On the positive side it has allowed me to find myself, opt out of the rat race and live a simple life. I try to avoid any stress even family related (one reason I live on the coast near my mum but away from the rest of my family)
I usually feel I havent accepted and given into my illness but learnt to live alongside it.

    So sorry to rant:mad:

On the plus side I picked up the first edition of the disney baking magazine. Found it fasinating and decided that although a bit pricey I will subscribe and save for dgd when she is older.
Logie and tiger you would love it. Originally got because 99p with lovely micky mouse cutter but I am hooked.
    V x

I too would feel betrayed if I were in your position V. Unintentionally cruel remarks can hurt more than than deliberate slights when they come from people we love. He probably doesn't realise how hurtful his remark was for you.
I think if I were you I would take the middle ground and not mention your illness to your aunts, but if they ask you outright I wouldn't lie. Feel free to vent as much as you like. Hugs Caz.

I haven't got any panabellos yet. He will only eat plain cheese and tomato with no added extras. Including green bits  I got away with covering Dr Os in mozzarella twice, then he rumbled me :(:o

Fairclaire, I've had the cheese and tomato Panebello and there were definitely no green bits:rotfl:. I'm not a fan of deep pan pizzas as I find them a bit stodgy but I was pleasantly surprised to find these were quite light. So I'd recommend you give them a try! HTH

Glad school went well today for FloFlo and tweets :T

I've discovered I'm in an extra elite group with Mildred - my fancy T is also charging for click and collect at the moment :(
Managed to get some Echo Falls in store though. Both discounts plus a gift card I had following a trouting last week made it less than £2 per bottle, which I'm happy with.
No sign of any TCO. The only aisle I could see marked Seasonal had electrical stuff in it. Am still getting used to what's where in new store though, so may have missed it.
