  • Evening all

Bit of a strange day emotionally.
My dads brother who lives near me has been taken into respite after a fall and of course dad would like to visit him. His sisters were already booked to see his brother this weekend but they are coming down by train and dad says he could not cope with being 'organised' by his sisters all weekend so could I collect him saturday and take him to see his brother sunday, taking him back monday.
Ok 600 miles in all for me but quite happy to help as the 4 of them rarely get together plus dad is worried it might be last time.

Shock came when dad asked if I saw his sisters could I pretend I am working as he has not told them of my illness:eek:
I think it has taken dad many years to accept my disabilities and when he did not understand he hid it from them.
Still tonight I get to thinking of it as a bit of a betrayal. I know benefits can hold a stigma but as many of you on here know illness is not a lifestyle choice it is lifechanging. For first 2 years after I gave up work I cried every morning.
Our minds become trapped in a body we do not recognise.

Sorry to have a rant but I thank god every day that my illness is what it is and nothing more. On the positive side it has allowed me to find myself, opt out of the rat race and live a simple life. I try to avoid any stress even family related (one reason I live on the coast near my mum but away from the rest of my family)
I usually feel I havent accepted and given into my illness but learnt to live alongside it.

    So sorry to rant:mad:

On the plus side I picked up the first edition of the disney baking magazine. Found it fasinating and decided that although a bit pricey I will subscribe and save for dgd when she is older.
Logie and tiger you would love it. Originally got because 99p with lovely micky mouse cutter but I am hooked.
    V x

Please do not apologise for ranting, that's why we're here ;)

Easy for me to say I know, but try not to let it stress you out if you can. I don't know whether I would be willing to go along with his 'charade' if I were in your shoes - probably not but I am a bit awkward :o
I suppose you have to weigh up how much stress you could end up with if you don't go along with it i.e. is it worth the hassle
Hope it all goes ok for you :A

Evening peeps. Just got back from watching Riddick. 2 tickets, 2 popcorn and 2 large coke all for £6.40. :D

But on the way back, popped into T's for BNI and got the pizzas and samosas, fillers, and picked up 2 tins of the finest tomotoes that are 25p.
Only bruddy compared to M's for £1.49 each.
Also 1 of the maoams had a sel for 5p and the refresher had a sel for 6p. Both went through at 10p. Shall I go back and ask for dtd? :rotfl:

If the meal deal wines are also on this 3 for 2, then yes, you could get 6 meal deals.

    Woo hoo. That's the way.:T

VT - :A I'm not surprised you feel a bit short changed there... It's not very fair of your dad. Would he go ballistic at you if you told his sisters the truth about yourself? Maybe it's an older generation thing but its a bit insensitive on his part. Surely it's better for you to live the way you do now and be a happier person. Don't feel down about it, families are difficult things! Hope things work out.

And on that note, I really, really am going up to bed.
with pp limited to £10 not worth mixing meal deals with wine glitch. also if md wine is not on 342 you would lose out on the free bottle. is there a reasonable pp on finest md.

would love to "just pop out" :(
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

Much better thankyou, but it is a nice shade of purple and black. Antibiotics are doing they're job. Only hurts if I stand still for too long, so walking round T's is making it better. ;)
