I want to say what a courageous job your son will be doing like all our forces.

But hardly anyone ever thinks of the people they leave back here. One of my good friends was due the same time as I was with dd2. (Our dd's were born the same day in the end) her husband got to spend 10 days with them before he was posted out. He got another week with them (they also have an older son who is 8 now, girls are 2) in the sept and didn't see them again until he arrived home on Xmas eve.

Big hugs to everyone that needs them xxx

Without wanting to take over the thread with Off topic conversation, I just miss my mum. Its been three years. I sometimes want/need to pick up the phone to hear her voice, and knowing I can't, just destroys me. I'm missing my mother so much today. Don't know where this came from. Its out of the blue. It feels like the first day. The day I heard she was gone.

Hugs Yoghurt Queen we have all been there and lost a loved one. When I hear certain songs I remember my Darling Dad and get all weepy nothing to be ashamed about.

It's so hard isn't it Yogurt Queen, I lost my mam 12 years ago and still miss her terribly. Probably like you and your mum, we were on the phone everyday.

ps don't worry about taking the thread O/T - It hasn't got one :)

Sendin huge hugs to mhoc and yogurt queen (and anybody else who needs or wants one) :)
There's so many different people post on here when theyre down yet no matter how different the stories the elite always listen and offer support.
Some posts seem trivial compared to others but all it can take is a few listening ears on the other end of a keyboard to really make someone feel even the teeniest bit better.
I've felt down before and even though nobody replied to me there was a multitude of people clicked on the thanx button which meant I knew people had read what I wrote and that was comforting enough to me to make my mood lift just that little bit to make my day better :)

    Sorry for rambling :o

I think I am one of the worst for not replying to some posts :( Reason for this is I have read the post and don't know what words to post to make the poster feel better without putting my foot in it so I leave it to others who post the correct words. :)
