Paid two licence fees for three years, doh!

It came to my attention last week that we have been paying two TV licence fees. :(

Im going to try and claim a refund and have filled in their online form to send off today.

Anyone else had experience of reclaiming?

I'm not going to hold my breath but its worth a bash.

Im really surprised they don't have a system in place to notify customers of such issues...

The second i cancelled DD on the second licence a letter popped through the door

Funny that

Three years!! My god I check my bank account weekly, there is no way I could do such a thing. Good luck getting a refund.

If you have been paying for two licenses at one property then I'm certain you'll receive a refund of one of them.

I think the lesson to learn here is to check bank statements on a regular basis. Three years is a long time to not discover such an error.

I'm surprised they never got in touch to ask why you were paying for two, but maybe people buy two licences if they have a holiday home or if they're paying the cost of a licence for kids away at Uni. They must presume people know what they're paying.

They're quick to get in touch for non-payers? Hmm.

I'm surprised that you don't have such a system in place. You only have one licence to manage, they have millions...
