Hi john I'm rushing so will try starting it tomorrow and check in again when I've had a proper go. It updated when I first turned it on, which was this Tuesday. No other updates but will retry. Thanks for your input
  • I'm on the nook, its still not letting me dl apps. I can't see how to register it, it just shows play web page and all the apps I've got on my phone. When I click on devices this one isn't shown and there's no option to add it. Googling the problem hasn't been productive. V frustrating.

    Any thoughts?

Right, mission accomplished. I googled again and found a youtube video which sorted it. Had to go through settings and update the software and play store plus all my phone apps, appeared as if by magic.

Very happy now. Thanks for all the help on here, it made up for the barnes and noble silence and unhelpful 'help'

When you look at the apps list (when it shows them all in a grid), can you see any normal Android icons or is it just the Nook app icons which are a plain colour and have a little 'n' on them? If you tap the top right and click all settings at the bottom then Device Information at the bottom left, what does it show for account and software version?

I was wondering if it had missed an update because it sounded like your Nook was still in the pre-Google store software. That's odd it didn't update itself as mine did it automatically soon after I took it out the box but I'm glad you've got it working - hopefully it should be easier going from now on.

It updated when I first turned it on, which was earlier this week. Thats why I couldn't understand what was wrong. Anyway got there eventually.
Thanks again for taking the time to help, it is much appreciated
