Obtaining proof of ownership/blacklisting from mobile phone provider
Not sure this is the right place to ask, but I lost my phone a month ago and have been trying to obtain a letter confirming my ownership of the phone, make/model, and when it was blacklisted (about 2 hours after it went missing). I've requested a letter from T-Mobile confirming this information 4 times and each time it has not arrived in the post. This has been holding up my insurance claim and I am also pretty miffed at having to ring them on my spare PAYG sim/phone every time. Apparently the proof of blacklisting can only be sent by post but otherwise the other details can be emailed, which I have just requested although this will take another 5 working days.
Does anyone else have experience with mobile phone providers in this respect? I am hoping at least the email will come through and that will be enough for my insurers as I have been paying a contract for a phone I don't even have! Does anyone think I might be able to ask T-Mobile to refund that month since they have held the whole process up?

When I got my iPhone I asked for proof of purchase straight away as i knew it would take a while and I wouldn't want to wait that long in the event of a claim.
Took 5 weeks. Forewarned is forearmed though...
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
