Mobile Phone insurance - Help needed.
Hi all,
I bought a Nokia N95 off ebay 3 days ago from a member who seems to be selling quite a lot of mobiles on a regular basis. Everything is ok with the phone, it was completely untouched and brand new as advertised and i have recieved it and am happy with it.
Now, to the point. Due to it being a phone that retails at £500 in most shops, i have decided i need to insure it. However, do you think i will be covered by mobile phone companies even though i bought it on ebay?
I have checked a couple and one in particular said it would need valid proof of purchase, and that does not include any online auctions.
Do you know of any companies which will insure my phone - or would i have to just add it to the home insurance?
Alternatively - do you think i should request a proof of purchase from the person i bought the phone off?
Thanks for all your help!
Alex

Hvae you tried your bank ? I bank with LLoyds TSB and they give me free mobile phone insurance with a select account, also with it being a new nokia n95 it would be worthwile asking the seller for the warranty document for the phone as this would cover any faults you might get for the next 2 years.0 -

I get phone insurance through my Bank First Direct and their Service is provided by PhoneSafe. mWho on when I insured my N95 Contract Phone through them informed me they only cover up to £300 and would want a receipt in the event of a claim. Now as my phone is a contract upgrade the delivery note/invoice says £30 on it. So not sure how that would work in the event of a claim.Cheers
