Compared to the heap we have now it's positively nippy!0

That's a lot of money for a 2006 car.......
My 04 Vectra was just £3000 in 2008.
48k miles is also too low, excessively low mileage is more abusive to a car than slamming it around McDonalds carpark at 80mph.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

My "gut" feeling is that its too expensive. A friend of mine got a 2010 Zafira 1.8 from a main dealers for £6995.
I've been offered two '06 cars - 1 1.6 with 70K miles and 1 1.8 SRi with 99K miles for approx £1950 each in the trade, and i'd thought they would retail for £2995. With lower miles i'd have thought £3495 retail price was plenty.
Will check them out this evening, but it does sound expensive for its age.0 -

I've an 08 Vectra 1.8i with 75K miles, timing belt done, FSH, Tax to 30th Sept, MOT to Feb 14, mint, for sale for £2995 at the minute...0 -
Check similar cars with same spec and similar mileage on Autotrader and make a decision based on your findings.0

No way. Much cheaper cars with exactly the same specifications (eg 1.6 club) on Autotrader for around the £3,500 mark. Better looked after ones slightly more, bit more tatty ones slightly less but a decent one looks around £3,500. I would take my business elsewhere if I were you.
Just to add- that was a national search on Autotrader so I understand that probably a lot of those aren't near you, but I think you should definetly be able to find what you want for under £4,000.0 -
Had a look on autotrader up to 100miles from where I live and can't find anything that costs much less to be honest unless it's a 1.8i petrol life which costs a fair amount to tax and run. Don't know if it makes a difference but I'm looking in north east scotland. Want to stay away from Private deals as have been well and truly shafted previously. Others that I have seen that are cheaper have their MOT's running out soon and little to no history. Stuck between a rock and a hard place really. Want some kind of security and place to go if it all goes Pete Tong but also don't want to be done out of money.
The mrs has just called and told me she's put down a £100 deposit on it conditional of a final inspection and test drive as we drove a 57 plate but they couldn't wiggle enough on price for our liking. She's signed something though so does that mean we're locked in or can we still haggle further or walk away all be it £100 lighter?0 -

Regarding the Zafira, that sounds like crazy money when you can buy a brand new one with 'lifetime warranty' (100,000 miles) for around £10k.0 -
Just had a quick browse of that area on Autotrader, you're right, there's hardly anything at a decent price.0
