Tears usually help too hun!!Do what you need to do to get in today xx:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Just do not google symptoms, its the worst thing you can do. Anxiety also causes many horrible symptoms which could easily relate to the worst.
Keep busy and I hope all will be well.0 -

At this lot, you could have a leg hanging off..they'll tell you it could have been managed at home :rotfl:
Tears don't work at health centre, she hands you a tissue and asks you to come back when you have calmed down....lovely receptionist threatening to throw me out when I had bad pnd and begged for an appt....she's like a little dictator :rotfl:Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -

It's probably the brief she's handed from the GP and she has to work that way but she is NOT medical and therefore cannot decide what it urgent and what isn't. If you feel it is, that should be good enough0 -
Oh Troutwrestler, I'm sorry to hear this.
Yes push for the last appointment today even if the doc has to do 10mins overtime.
If they still won't see you then go to A&E at the hospital this afternoon (because the GP is closed) with regard to the back pain. That will be reasonable and then the other symptoms will be discussed from there.
Thing is that even when you see a GP or A&E Doctor, they will only pass you on to a consultant for a scan to find out what is going on. You're unlikely to get an immediate definitive answer. So the waiting will go on a while.
Perhaps - don't google anything until you have a definite diagnosis.
There's no way you won't fret till you know what's what. But the busier you are the more you'll be distracted.
Waiting in A&E for the back pain to be looked at will distract you then when you get home - Get stuck in to a day of MSE surfing if you can't face anything else. Time flies then. (hug)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gp called back, no appt needed, it's better to be seen and referred by my own gp, he said (as poster above) I'm likely to need referrel to hospital and that could be 3 week wait as far as he knows. Take paracetamol and ibuprofen for back and underarm pain and see your gp on Monday.
Ah well..... Monday it is then. Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -
I was there exactly 2 months ago. I’d noticed something but wasn’t sure if it was a lump until about 3 weeks later, I clearly felt something whilst in bed. I woke my OH, hoping he would tell me he felt nothing, but he said there was definitely something there and to make an appointment with the GP first thing in the morning. I burst into tears fear over taking me.
My GP couldn’t fit me in, but as it is also a walking centre, I just showed up and was seen by my GP anyway. However, I do believe that this would be not be considered as a routine appointment and you would be expected to be given an appointment on the same day, especially if you are in pain. I was again hoping the GP would tell me it was nothing, but instead said I had to be referred under the 2 weeks wait (which you should be too, as any woman presenting with a breast lump) and would fax the letter immediately. I had a call from the hospital that afternoon offering me a date 2 weeks later. On one hand I was dreading all that wait, but on the other I saw it that I could pretend it wasn’t happening for a bit longer, however, I did say that if they had any cancellation, I would take any day and time. They called me back 1 hour later offering me an appointment 5 days later. On that day, I saw the consultant, who again didn’t say the words I was hoping for, but that I would need a mammogram immediately, and then they would perform an ultrasound and if the ultrasound showed something, would do a biopsy there and then. I had the mammogram and came back 6 days later for the ultrasound. My OH came with me and I can say that it was definitely the worse day of my life and the ultrasound although lasting only 10 minutes felt like hours. I burst into tears of relief when I was told then that it was a cyst and wouldn’t need a biopsy.
The reality is that bumps are very common, especially amongst women in their mid 30s-40s because of fluctuating hormones. Pain is commonly associated with cysts (although I myself didnt have any).
I had told only my OH as didn’t want to hear stories from friends and family and I found it easier to cope with and my OH was absolutely wonderful during all this time, however, I wish I did because when I told my friends afterwards, half of them told me that they too had had a lump and been referred for tests and all had come back fine.
I hope that you are treated promptly by the NHS so that you don’t to have to wait long to know where you stand.0 -
Just read your last post. NHS targets are that you should be seen within two weeks. The hospital should be calling you within days to offer you a date. If beyond 2 weeks, do ask why they are not meeting their targets and what they are doing about it.0

Tbf to the doc, he did say as far as he knew, he didn't seem to know what to do or say really..other than take some painkillers and see your gp.Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -
I kind of wish I had kept ignoring it..it was easier to pretend it wasn't there... Fbaby..so glad it was all ok for you...I could never manage a 2 week wait I don't think..but I'm kind of hoping the gp tells me it's nothingIts all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0
