If I were you I would also double check they are open Monday as it’s the bank holiday…!

Are you able to just turn up and hope they can see you when they have a spare 5 mins?

Yeah I really hoped the could fit me in at the end of surgery or in between appts, but as the receptionist said, if everyone did that the doc would never go home.

Fingers crossed its nothing, but I have to,admit, past few weeks I haven't been feeling great, and now with the pain....if it isn't the worst thing I'm thinking it could be...I will be so happy :)

I think bearing in mind the worry this is causing you it is worth seeking a medical opinion. The fact that your health centre is closed for two and a half days this week is absolutely ridiculous and any cover available should be used if needed - if there 'cover' is out of hours then I would phone them as this is what they have put in place.

Really not worth the stress - believe me, people will phone for much less 'urgent' matters. Give them a call and put your mind at rest xx
  • Hmm, maybe I should call, even if I just get some advice maybe. I'm paranoid about wasting appointments...I got a ticking off for taking my 3 year old up for a rash before, apparently I should have known it wasn't serious...although tbf this was the nurse not the gp...who seemed fine about checking her over.

It's sound stupid but as much as the worrying is doing my head in...part of me doesn't want to know anyway...I'm an oddball

How ridiculous of that nurse. I took DD1 to the docs once when she was a few months old (and I was a 'new' mum and worried as she wasn't 'right') and the doctor examined her and said - in her German accent - 'vat zis baby needs is a damn good !!!!!!'! DD was constipated :rotfl: But doctor said to me to always trust my instincts and never worry about wasting time if I was worried.

It really annoys me when they are so dismissive of things like rashes in children, which can be potentially life threatening ina very short space of time, and then they spend a fortune on advertising saying if you've coughed for three weeks go to the docs as you may have lung cancer!
  • Ok. Waiting on callback for gp on call. See what they say. I'm in a lot of pain today so maybe that will go in my favour for an appt
