New in the country but need loan to buy car

Weird thread, with at least 4 people asking for loans that none of them will get in 100 years LOL0

The Rover I bought for 450 quid a few years ago lasted for 1.5 years. Would have lasted longer if it hadn't broken down abroad, where they wanted to charge me 4 times more for a new clutch than I would have paid at home, so I just let them keep it :P
Only problem with it was that one window wouldn't fully close, which caused a load of noise when driving on the motorway, but it's marvelous what you can do with a bit of ductape ^^
Get a car like this, run it for a year and set 5k aside in that time for a more upmarket car...0 -

Mohan, you are not helping yourself here..... what do you expect...? 7 months in the UK and about 35....? I reckon if you don't know yourself too well then the credit suppliers may also take the same view. I am intrigued though - if you are here on a professional basis and need a vehicle for your work, won't your emplyer provide it....?0 -

I bought a 'T' reg VW Passat for £75, still road legal for 2 months, which flew through its MoT, and was given to a family that couldn't afford to buy a car. This was after putting 2000 miles a week on it.
If it was a diesel, I'd have kept it a lot longer than the 2 weeks I did.
