We don't know how long they have had this job, though.AFK_Matrix wrote: »But they have been here 7 months so in theory should have something saved up to buy a cheap car to get by with. Guess not though if they are wanting a loan.
And we don't know what other costs (relocation expenses, etc) they've had in that time.0 -
In your other post you said you had a car and insurance but got rid of the car and were looking to cancel the insurance, why did you not keep the car (and insurance) whilst you were in a position to buy another?0

Thanks all for responses. Very active forum. I really like it.
The car I bought 3 months ago was an 800 Pound WV Golf. Very old. Unfortunately, I got ripped as I paid 400 GBP to get it services changed battery and some other stuff.
And then one day, suddenly the engine started having problems and heating up. So it was worth 200 GBP in scrap value. I know I did a mistake buying that one at the first place. This time, I am looking to buy a good one for about 5k.
Its a no brainer that I can save money and buy one, the problem is I do not want to wait 5 months.
There must be a way out to get may be a personal loan/Car loan even if you are new to the country? No?0 -
As I have said - look at 6 month car hire. If you can save £1k a month. Car hire for a month should cost around £300-400. This will leave 600 a month for you to save and give you £3k deposit for a £5k car, you could extend hire for a few more months and have a decent car within 9-12mths.0

How long have you been in the country ?
No 1 can/is able to suggest a loan as the banks take care of that.
As gb12345 says below how can you expect to meet the repayments with no job ?0 -

Do you actually have a job (in your other post you claim to be a jobseeker) - if not then how do you plan on paying back any loan that you get (in the near impossible chance that you actually get one).0 -
Guys to help everyone in a similar situation. There is one I found.
But they charge Huge interest, but atleast you have someone.
Amigo Loans - search.
Acceptance Criteria
You need:
You don't need to have a good credit history
You will need to find a guarantor who is a homeowner
You don't have to have been a resident of the UK for a specified length of time
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply
You don't need to have direct debit facilities0 -

So do you know someone who is stupid enough to risk their good credit history by guaranteeing a loan for you?
Or was the whole point of this thread just so that you could come back after finding amigo loans and recommend them?0
